　　此乃七十年代「緊張大師」孫仲執導之作品，故事描述當時年青人對愛情之態度及渴望。洋行職員李明麗（林珍奇）思想脫俗，為了反抗母親（王萊）撮合她跟商人陳秉良（韋弘）的婚事，毅然脫離家庭獨自生活。一天無意與小說作家顧晨風（宗華）偶遇，二人迅即墮入愛河，並發展而成一對同居密友。由於晨風希望有了經濟基礎之後，才與明麗正式結婚，因此專注精神發展事業，將明麗冷落一旁；後又與舊情人黃愛玲（劉慧玲）邂逅，更添明麗的誤會。二人終因性格及工作上之差異，已致反目，懷有身孕的明麗更悄悄將胎兒打掉，結果……

The movie made a star of nineteen-year-old Lin Chen-chi, who exudes the youthful spirit then infusing Hong Kong as it made the transformation from traditional Chinese strictures to an era where sex was no longer a three-letter word. Variety gave Cohabitation the thumbs up, describing it as "contemporary and intelligent."
