On a quiet L.A. Max (Jamie Foxx) is riding his taxi from one stop to the next as usual. However, the latest person he transports is not usual at all as he soon discovers to his shocking disbelief. Vincent (Tom Cruise) reveals himself as a contract killer that regards Max and his cab as a means to get him to his victims to complete his latest killing spree. The last name on the list that has been sentenced to death by the secret corporation that Vincent has signed with happens to be Max' could-be future lover Annie (Jada Pinkett Smith) who is unaware of the approaching danger. Max has to find a way to get rid of his murdering freight before Vincent's killing precision hits its final goal
