Based on perhaps the greatest U.S. novel about World War I, the film interweaves the novel "Company K" with the author's own experience in WWI. The film unveils the rearing side of war and the reality of dying for your country... Delaney's company faces attack by a bombing and staffing German biplane, then by mustard gas thrown over as the Americans enter the trenches, Delaney is wounded in the company's first attack... Back to trenches, a fresh lieutenant arrives, he senses that the men have no respect for his abilities, he brashly orders his sergeants to set up machine gun nest despite warnings. Unfortunately, the Germans catch sight of the men crawling across no man's land... Delaney and his comrades Carter and Emil hardly survive after fatal battles, they must now deal with the quie life of the civilian world but it is not so easy to leave the war behind....
