Danny Lee (The Killer) sports one crazy 80s perm to play the Cop of the Town in this rollicking action outing from 1985, which chronicles the adventures of a playboy policeman trying to protect a beautiful model from a crazy stalker. As Officer "Romeo" Lee, Danny uses his rad hairdo and white short-pants to charm the ladies off their feet while butting heads with his prudish female superior. It's a setup rife with comedic opportunity, but Cop of the Town plays things pretty serious. Lee's fashion sense aside, this is a gritty, violent police thriller in the best Hong Kong tradition.

Police officer extraordinaire and man-about-town Romeo Lee enjoys his work. Being a stud cop, after all, is a fine way to pick up women, as long as the uptight lieutenant (Angela Mak) doesn't catch on. Lee gets extra lucky when a newly single fashion model seeks his protection from a deranged ex-boyfriend. But what looks to be an easy case turns deadly serious after the girl's former lover reveals himself to be a first-class psychopath.

Bill and Romeo are a pair of old hands working with the action squad in the Police Department. Unfortunately, a P.I, Mak, is newly appointed as their squad leader. Bill and Romeo have to adjust in hurry how the new inspector likes to handle cases in her way. Annie, a model, turning up at the station to complain being harassed by her former boyfriend, Ricky. Romeo accepts her case. Romeo finds out that he had some unpleasant encounter with Annie's former boyfriend before, on behalf of Annie too. Suspecting Romeo's involvement, Ricky cunningly set Romeo up in police brutality charge. While Romeo was sidelined by police disciplinary measures, Ricky stepped up his persecution against Annie. Cleverly, Romeo cleared all charges against him, send Ricky to mental hospital. Unfortunately, hell broke loose when Ricky escaped from the mental hospital......
