A gripping Hong Kong crime film, Cop on a Mission takes the usual themes of brotherhood between cops and thieves and twists them in a satisfying, entertaining manner. Rising star Daniel Wu is Mike, a cop who's been suspended for use of excessive force on the job. Rather than let his talents go to waste, the cops make him an undercover with a particular assignment: to join up triad boss Yum (Eric Tsang), in hopes of taking he and his gang down. But when Mike sees Yum's gorgeous wife Pauline (Suki Kwan), he starts to entertain other, non-police-sanctioned ideas that will net him far more than a medal from the commissioner. Ultimately, neither of his two identities (loyal cop or loyal criminal) is enough to satisfy his growing personal ambition. A dark Hong Kong noir that subverts its standard genre trappings, Cop on a Mission introduces us to an undercover cop who's far worse than both the cops AND the criminals. Daniel Wu is magnetic as the doubly-duplicitous undercover cop, and Eric Tsang is both pathetic and compelling as the target triad boss. Police constable Mike is suspended from duty charged with abusing the use of his gun in a robbery. During his suspension from duty, Mike meets a Triad Society Big Brother, Tin and admires his lifestyle and also his sexy wife. Mike is apparently dismissed but in fact becoming a stoolie. Mike eventually becomes Tin's bodyguard, and discovers that his buddy Chung also becomes a stoolie. Mike uses the Police Force to get rid of all big brothers and intends to become the head of the Society, as well as taking over Tin's wife. For his own sake, Mike even kills his buddy Chung and kidnaps Tin...

bad to the rotten core
| Cop on a Mission is the English title the Chinese title is Know the Law, Break the Law. Daniel Wu plays a good cop gone rottenly bad to the deep rotten core. He wants it all the money and hot chicks the fast and bad way. There is a scene showing him taking a shower and shows his back and buttocks. He was thinking about the mob boss's girlfriend and masturbating in the shower. There was no point to that scene. The story is fair. The acting is ordinary. |

It was kinda boring
| ok the movie was alright but it seemed kinda stupid and why did they have to show his butt for?!? The plot was laright but it wasnt the best thing ever...too much blood |

a lot of violence
| this movie contains a lot of violence and graphic material which is not recommended for kids to watch. the movie is about a good cop who goes undercover and gets inside a mob gang, next thing he turns into a bad cop and causes people to get killed for his own selfish interests. also he has a plan to kill of the mob head so that he can control the entire empire but his plan falls apart when the mob head is onto his evil ways, next thing he knows he is the one who is being buried alive at the end of the movie. very gross a lot of violence, blood, etc. not recommended for kids. daniel wu plays the good cop turned bad cop turned mob gang member turned to shyt when his @ss gets dumped in the ditch at the end of the movie. |

TWO THUMBS WAY UP HIGH

This is one of the best Daniel Wu films I've seen. Although there were some scenes that could've been excluded, the story wasn't bad. It was not the typical triad or cop movie, and Daniel Wu gave a wonderful performance as the bad guy. I highly recommend this movie to anyone looking for some enjoyment, but keep in mind, this movie is gorey. |

Twisted
| It's a good movie because it combined action, adventure, comedy, and drama into the entire package. But what made it great was the little twist at the beginning and the end. |
