Diverse and consistently excellent compilation Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
"Count-Down J-Pop 2006" does exactly what you want a compilation album to do. It collects a wide variety of songs in different pop genres, gives you a taste of both new artists and veteran performers, and keeps the quality very high. While I definitely like some songs more than others, there aren't any bad songs in this collection. Disc 1 is mostly ballads and love songs; disc 2 is up-tempo dance and rock numbers. For me, ther real standouts on the album are the gorgeous Otsuka Ai ballad that opens the first disc, both Do As Infinity songs (I didn't know they could rock that hard!), the romantic songs by Shimatani Hitomi, Kiyokiba Shunsuke, and mink (all of whom are new to me), the sparkling dance tracks from Hamasaki Ayumi, Amuro Namie, and BoA, and the scorching, yet tuneful rocker by Janne Da Arc. Great stuff!

Nice Compilation Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
I recommend this CD to anyone who's looking for a variety in songs, music styles, and artists. It is put together very nicely and almost every track is an enjoyable experience. It's got pop, rock, soul, trance, all mixed in. You don't want to pass up this offer: 2 CD's full of great hits!

This is a great album and I highly recommend it (according to tracklist of course).
but does anyone know if the songs included on the CD are Lives from the COUNTDOWN '06 or if they are just the Studio Recordings?
