reinvention at it's finest.
| there has been a lot of talk lately about how hitomi has gone from a more rock influenced sound to a more overly produced dance/pop sense, much like gwen stefani. with that in mind, let me just say this- THESE ARE THE SONGS THAT GWEN STEFANI SHOULD HAVE MADE! i remember the first time i heard "japanese girl"- my head was spinning and my booty was shakin, and while i wasn't as responsive to "love angel" at first, it soon grew on me as well. "cra"g"y mama" is much like the previous- very different than the norm of hitomi's sound, but still clever and catchy enough to keep me waiting for more. the sound isn't revolutionary by any means, but hitomi's voice itself is one of a kind, which adds something new to the type of music she is making. all i can say is that i'm waiting on the edge of my seat for another single or album- hopefully she won't make the same mistake as her american counterpart by releasing quality singles (or in stefani's case, ONE single previous to the album's release) and poor quality filler songs. |
