Eason Chan, Joey Yung, and award-winning actor Francis Ng star in the entertaining cop film Crazy N' The City. Chris Chan(Eason Chan) is a disenchanted beat cop who's never used his gun in the line of duty, and has little hope of ever seeing excitement or meaning beyond his everyday duties. Man Liu (Joey Yung) is his idealistic new partner, who's gung-ho about the most menial of cop duties, including saving cats. And Cheng Wang (Francis Ng) is a slightly deranged gentleman who's never quite recovered from a series of personal setbacks. All three find their lives changed and even challenged when a sex offender begins to terrorize the streets of Wanchai. Can Chris and company rise to the challenge?

Director James Yuen's Crazy N' The City is a uniquely Hong Kong film about average people finding some measure of hope and heart in their everyday lives. Man Liu is an idealistic rookie who needs to find inspiration to keep her spirits up, while Chris rediscovers his passion when a group of high school girls treat him as a hero. Cheng Wang is worse off, as he's not operating on all cylinders, but through faith and maybe some guts, he can find his own personal redemption. Crazy N' The City succeeds thanks to a winning combination of humor, heart, sympathetic characters, tense cop thrills, and good old-fashioned storytelling.

I don't know why others liked this movie, but now I'll always think of Francis as the crazy guy. This has a good ending but not a movie I would want to watch again.

This low-budget but highly entertaining film, which has been largely ignored by critics and audiences alike, is one of the better Hong Kong releases of 2005. A deceptive storyline focuses on the daily lives of a world weary cop, his new partner and a former bra(yes, bra) salesman who has suffered a massive mental breakdown due to debt and divorce. The film mixes humour and pathos with a dark tale of a serial killer on the loose in a manner that makes it compulsive viewing. Sure, there are rough edges and the editing could have used some finesse, but the film is never predictable and throws some curves when least expected. The performances are excellent (and they have to be to carry some of the more implausible sequences) and the production values good enough to make this low-budget feature stand tall. Watch it and enjoy!

This is a very excellent comedy/action movie. I am not particularly fond of Eason Chan as he's not very good looking but he is very,very good here. Great acting and a likeable guy. Joey Yung is as always superb. Good story, good acting and direction. Don't miss this DVD. It's highly recomanded.

I like this movie for many reasons, one of them being its music (or the lack of it), which works well into the story. The music is in near perfect synchrony with the plot. And sometimes the lack of it has the same powerful effect.

this is a surprisingly good movie. it gave me a lot more than i expected, especially the purposes it served - unlike other dumb HK movies. RECOMMENDED!
