Late Hong Kong superstar Leslie Cheung makes a comedic turn in the 1985 film Crazy Romance directed by Tommy Leung. Co-starring acclaimed actress Sylvia Chang (Tempting Heart) and comedy regular Nat Chan, the film is a motley mix of genres with (crazy) romance, comedy, police action, jailhouse hijinks, and even the occasional quiet moment amidst the nonsense aplenty. The film also features Ng Man Tat, David Wu, and Charlie Cho in supporting roles.
Nat Chan plays Hung, a no-good street lout who gets caught of stealing because of Zaza (Sylvia Chang) who happened to be walking by. After some time in jail, Hung and his buddies get released, only to be dragged right back to the police station for eating without paying. At the station, Hung bumps heads angrily with Wing (Leslie Cheug), who it turns out is none other than Zaza's younger brother. All thoughts of revenge are banished though when Hung sees Zaza again, looking absolutely ravishing. Wing and Hung form a friendship after the fighting, and Wing endeavors to help Hung win Zaza's heart.

洪家寶（陳百祥飾）頭腦機靈，麥交（邵國華飾）則面懵心精，兩人經常拍檔賺錢。一日，兩人行竊時，被監獄輔導官嘉嘉（張艾嘉飾）路過揭發，因而洪對嘉懷恨在心。數月後，洪出獄，因犯事又被捉到警局，警署內遇上嘉之弟榮仔（張國榮飾），兩人結下仇怨，而洪則被嘉之豔麗所傾倒。後因榮弄壞停車場的車，洪出言相救，兩人結為好友。在榮之協助下，洪與嘉感情劇增。獄官高大瑞（曹查理飾）本單戀嘉，不甘被橫刀奪愛，從中破壞，後嘉搬入監獄宿舍避開洪。為見嘉，洪再次入獄，然嘉卻已辭職離去。在獄友的幫助下，洪成功逃獄，奔到嘉家時，發現嘉要移民，已前往機場。洪不顧警方追捕，直奔機場。機場內，洪向嘉坦誠表露心意，終將嘉打動。
Hung is a street-wise smart aleck and Mak is his dumb sidekick. They are partners, mostly in unlawful jobs. One night, the two are spotted by Zaza in the middle of a heist. Consequently they go to jail so Hung hates Zaza for this. After released, they have a nice meal without paying. Once again they are in a police station where Hung meets his sworn enemy Wing who is Zaza's brother. Zaza comes to bail Wing out and suddenly Hung falls in love with Zaza. Wing and Hung meet again and fight again. However, an accident turns them into friends. Wing tries to get Zaza and Hung together. Warden Ko, also in love with Zaza, succeeds in alienating the two again. Hung escapes from the prison to see Zaza but finds out that she's left for immigration. He speeds to the airport and intercepts Zaza and eventually Zaza is moved by his love.
