Wow......
All I can say is "wow....." This album is great!! I may even like it more than I like MARS, and I LOVE Mars! All the songs are so great. And 'Dybbuk' there's no describing it. I highly recommend this to all Gackt fans, and if you are not a Gackt fan, pick this up anyways, and you will become one!

Unbelievable...
I must say, I was pleasantly surprised when I heard this album. I hadn't really been expecting this kind of a sound from Gackt. I'd had a horrible feeling it would be very mainstream pop, but when I listened to it, the whole cd had a feel to it that I haven't found since Mars. I think Crescent runs a close second to Mars. It has a bit more of an edge to it than some of his previous work. I love the slightly dark, rock feel it has. I especially like his new songs, my favourites being Dybbuk, Mind Forest, and Lust for Blood. I strongly urge any fan of not only Gackt, but JRock in general to buy this album. It's a must have.

BEST of 2003
i can't believe it, this album is hella good. the first song will attract u into a very misterious mood and later into Gackt's world. At first when u listen to this album, you u will feel a desperation of the outcome of this amaizing album. when i was listening by the 1st time, i had this feeling of wanting to listen to it more and more...now i have played it 11 times already. this is a must buy, before it run out like MARS.

Good, but not the greatest
|
Overall, this album is better than Rebirth and somewhat better than Moon. The songs are pretty good, but not as outstanding as Mars' quality. I think it's unfortunate that there are so many slow songs on this album --but then again, I'm a slow song hater. The slow songs are nice, but not as good as something like emu ~for my dear~. Gackt has definitely gone back to rock (a mix of j-rock and Malice Mizer), and it's really nice to hear him experimenting. There's a lot of nice strings, and even an impression of Celtic on track 12. The first track is really weird, sounding like a mix of old Malice Mizer and traditional Asian fusion. Too bad none of the songs are as standout as some of his past ones (Vanilla,emu,Luna...). But otherwise, this album is really not that bad. For any Gackt fan, I do recommend it. Favorite tracks: 2,4(nice strings),7(dramatic),8 (rock),11(mm reminiscent) |

It's a masterpiece!
I thoroughly enjoyed Mars and Rebirth, was a bit disappointed with Moon (although it has grown on me since my first few listens), and so did not know what to expect from Crescent. However, I fell in love with the "Kimi ga Oikakete yume," Tsuki no Uta," and "Last Song" singles. I was thrilled to hear not only the singles, but c/w songs as well on this album. Perhaps the most excitement was from hearing, at last, the release of the much anticipated, "Kimi ga Matteiru Kara". Crescent has everything: there are gorgeous acoustic songs, but also edgy rock songs that are simply put "amazing." Thank you, Gackt!

Crescent owns.
This CD is awesome. I was a little dissappointed that it only had four new songs written for the CD on it, but they are asskicking. Darker, which is good. I was afraid he was just going to be boring "I love you so much tsuyoku dakishimette tra la la la la" but really, he's not. Mind Forest, Lust for Blood, White Eyes, Dybbuk, these songs kick, despite the fact that they have retarded titles. Buy the CD; you will love it.

same old...
he's a good singer, but as always, he gets boring after a while... being a solo artist, +all+ his songs are structured exactly the same... verse chorus verse chorus, bridge with voice distortion, chorus chorus, etc.... hell, he sings all his songs the same way which also gets incredibly boring...

almost perfect.......
crescent is a very nice sounding album. gackt has incorporated new vocals/sounds and a harder edged sound to his new songs. i trully enjoy every song on this album, despite the fact that half of them are from singles. however, i have one complaint about orenji no taiyo. i dislike the way hyde sings in the very beginning/end of this song. for some reason, no matter how much i listen to this song, i get aggravated at the way hyde rolls his voice and makes it sound bad....don't get me wrong..this song is lovely..i just can't get over the fact about how much i dislike hyde's singing style in some parts. other than that, this is an amazing album, and i'd definantly reccomend it to others!!!

Crescent
I was hoping that gackt would put all of his great 2003 singles on one cd and here it is! Half of the songs are recently released singles and the rest are completely new. The new songs on this album are alittle harder and more aggressive than his older songs. But they are great! This album might even become as popular as his MARS album! A must have for all Gackt fans! With this CD Gackt shows the world what J-rock really is!
