Paul and Barbara are enjoying a vacation off the coast of Spain with Howard, their wealthy investor and Vicki his wife. Their sailboat crashes on a reef, trapping Vicki below deck. Paul and Barbara must go to the nearest town, Imboca, for help. But when Paul returns, Howard and Vicki have vanished.
As night falls, Paul finds himself pursued by the entire town. Running for his life, he uncovers Imboca's secret: All outsiders are sacrificed to Dagon, a monstrous god of the sea - the men skinned a live, the women offered to bear Dagon's offspring - the freakish half-human creatures that populate Imboca.
