Feel disappointed
|
I bought this book because of the same title in the radio program. I thought that it would be as fabulous as the radio program, but now I felt disappointed. First of all, the cases that the author selected were not all as famous and not produced similar influence when the cases came out. What I mean is that: only the first couple cases (Mei Foo family violence case and the principle murder case) produced great impact to population; all other cases were very normal. The one about the dead body inside the TV box is the best one. The last one (human meat chinese pork bun) didn't happen in Hong Kong, only the doubted murderer was from Hong Kong. Secondly, the way the author described the cases didn't reveal how dangerous the people were. She just reported the case using more human rather than from criminal, judicial or psychological. Since she is a lawyer, I did expect to receive more internal information, those were not exposed by the police. However, the stories in the book are actually the same as when we read from newspaper and magazines when the cases happened. Thirdly, the pictures are not much and did not give a very good signal about "dangerous people". This book is much less interesting as the other book called "Hong Kong serious cases fax" published by Next Media Group. |
