《黨的女兒》講述了第二次國內革命時期，興國縣桃花鄉豪紳孫老八結匪頑抗，李玉梅跟著農會與他展開鬥爭，與共產黨員王傑相愛結合。在之後的紅軍反圍剿中，王傑等人參加了紅軍。長征開始後，李玉梅等人留守繼續鬥爭。卷土重來的白軍團長正是豪紳孫老八的兒子孫殿起。他下令把抓到的共產黨員全部處死。李玉梅在刑場僥幸逃出，卻讓秀英和惠珍懷疑黨內的叛徒就是李玉梅。為游擊隊買藥的李玉梅來到鎮上，見到馬家輝，已經是叛徒的馬家輝假裝答應說他可以弄到糧食。李玉梅 識破馬家輝和孫殿起設下的消滅游擊隊的陷阱，秀英和惠珍這才相信李玉梅。三位女共產黨員成立了黨小組，堅持鬥爭，抓住了馬家輝的狐狸尾巴。在最後一次鬥爭中，李玉梅為掩護黨的通訊員小程，挺身而出，英勇就義。
