November 14, 2009 The Book and Sword (2009)This revised version by Loius Cha is the best of all versions. The storyline is logical and sensible. Louis Cha should consider updating all his past works. That would bring such immense enjoyment to his fans. Vicki Chow is such a refreshing beauty from Hong Kong. Her role adds strength to this already excellent series.

This series is an inferior imitation of the version producing by China starring Li Ya Peng. The China version is faithful to the original story. Even the dialogue is in accordance to the book. The acting & actions are superior to the 2008 version. A common mistake of producers is unless they are able to surpass the quality of the previous series, don't attempt to make the same series. My advise is, stay away from the 2008 version. Buy the China version and you would get your money worth.

The story about Huo Yuan Jia is known far and wide by people but the producer decided to change a great bulk of the story. The change isn't for the better. The former series by ATV starring Wong Yuan Sen is far superior in terms of storyline and martial arts skills. Ekin Cheng is no martial exponent at all. His sidekick fares no better. I regretted spending money on such an inferior product. Didn't even bother to purchase part 2 to this series.

October 26, 2007 The Legendary FokI watched this series back in the 80's and could still remember it. A must buy for anyone who is interested in authentic martial arts movies. Well written script plus the well choreographed actions, put this series far above many other martial arts movies. I'm adding this series to my personal collection.

I watched this tv series more than 20 years ago and could still recall it's greatness. All the current shows on Wong Fei Hung pale in comparison to this production by ATV. It's for this reason I'm purchasing it for my personal collection.
