Bad taste in mouth

I understand the whole defend thyself against those barbaric Japanese is a time tested plot line, but this one really seems desperate to hold itself together by compare & contrasting the stereotypes of the cultures a little too much. The fights are chaotic even though there are a couple real martial arts players, those individuals are not utilized to their potentials. Too bad Cynthia Khan doesn't do much of the action sequences. You feel sorry for her because she is dressed in a bulky wardrobe in an attempt to cover up her male stunt/fight double. Yu Rong Gwong must not have had anything else lined up to act in either. (Hard times) Ah well; not a highly recommended film but if there are some moments that barely make it worth while to view (not own). |
