This movie was wonderful to watch. It kept me at the edge of my seat, and therefore I had to go ahead and watch the second one, but or course, that's a whole other review. Anyway, I loved the story line, I loved the characters, and I still love the cartoon even if the story lines are a little different. That's usually what happens between movies and series. My favorite character, of course, was L. He was my favorite because of his quirkiness, his strange posture, and his brains. He was very brilliant. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who will watch it. You will not regret it at all, unless you're too stuck on the anime to give this one a try. Just do it. Buy it now. Awesomely Sugoi!

I never really got into the manga, but I was out buying Casshern the other day and I'd get a bargin if I bought another DVD, so I bought this one. (I was watching a TVXQ interview and they said the movie was good, so I tried it. ^^) This movie was awesome and highly amusing. It mixes mystery and humor very well. ^_^ Now, I HAVE to get the second movie. ^_^ I also like the familiar faces (like how Light is the same actor who played in Battle Royal.) His acting was excellent. Anyway, it's a must have. ^_^ APPLES!!! |

is there french subtitle??
| Hi every one, My name is Maxime but my nickname is " Max". I live in france, exactely in Rennes, in the north west of France. I discovered " Death Note" with the anime, and when I saw that there is an adaptation in movie, I look after every where where I can buy DVDs ... So my ask is about the subtitle: I love the Nippon Luanguage and I dont want french voice but just the subtitle ... but do it exist ??? I check you in my favorite internet site ... It was okay~
| This movie was rather boring. It was somewhat like the comic-animated, but not really. It was kind of interesting in some parts. I don't know what to say, this movie is not worth my time. I would expect it to be better. The ending was ..... yah-dum-dum! |

Nicely done
| I watch this movie because my son encourage me too. I was surprised that the story was donw pretty well. I enjoyed it. But it's bitin. I wish they come up with the next part ASAP. |

One of the unlikely moments where the main character is a bad guy (from a certain point of view). The manga story is different from any other manga I've read before and the director has done a very good job in making this live action flick. Actor selection was pretty well handled: my gosh, L looks just like he's jumped out from the manga and into the real world! The story is dark, intelligent, and unpredictable: although it is not 100% faithful to the manga. This movie will appeal to many people: manga lovers, anime fans, or the average movie-goer. Thumbs-up! |

| No matter what language you see it in, it is THE BEST!!! I saw it during the movie release in hong kong, and since I can't understand japanese, and my chinese reading skills are quite poor (I'm from america) I read the english subtitles, I hope there are lots more to come because the movie end in a serious cliff hanger, if this movie was released in the US, I would kill, but I guess I'll just have to get it here! |
