this cd is pretty goooood! <3 it
| after i listened to the boulder album, i was extremely impressed by how this group alters it's style and still sounds realllllly good! i bought this album expecting to hear the same type of music like that on their boulder album, but instead i ended up hearing a lot of alternative-ish sounding songs on their deep calm album. i didn't find it very appealing at first, and usually i give up trying to force myself to listen to music i don't instantly like. but after a while, some of the songs on this album REALLY grew on me. i recommend the songs reality, pure minds, riot generator, freezing rain, and runaway. i love them, so yea... those songs made buying this album worth it. hope this helps! |

Not for the faint of heart!
| Contrary to Move's cd title "Deep Calm," this is anything but! I was first introduced to Move through the anime Initial D and have been a devout fan since. However, this album is different from prior songs. One great song is "Disabuse," an instrumental song with an Indian and techno spin. "Freezing Rain" caught my attention when I first listened to the cd. It's got an awesome fast beat that makes a great "driving in your car" song. It's my personal favorite song from the album. "Blast My Desire" is the ending theme song for Initial D 4th Stage, and is a little more pop but still has that hard edge in its music. "Runaway" is another song worth mentioning. It gravitates between low key guitar playing and fast paced rock. If you have listened to Move's other album, "Decadence," and loved it, you'll definitely enjoy this one. This album is more techno rock than techno pop, so for people who prefer pop should probably steer clear from this one. On the other hand, if you're ready to take the plunge, this album is one of the best from Move. |
