Starts good, ends bad
| A nearly 180 degree turnaround from PLAYGIRL, Rina releases "Delight" which contains a variety of musical genres, most of them on the cutesy side. Rina starts off the album solidly with her classic techno and rock-pop sound that lasts up through Akaku Atsui Kodou. All songs have a very sophisticated and dramatic feel. This is the good part of the album. Then the remainder of the album shifts to a very sugary-pop sound, beginning with Miracle, followed by a couple of forgettable ballads. This spoils the album. While I enjoy an album with variety, these genres do not mesh well! Her sugary-pop songs are typical (and forgettable) anime-sounding songs and are a huge disappointment. I definitely agree that her sound is a bit like Ai Otsuka and Morning Musume's. Rina is now 26, she should be a little more sophisticated with her music by now. In all honesty, the only memorable album track was Delight. This album and A.I.R are unfortunately disappointments. Recommended only for hardcore Rina fans. |

Good voice, but sell-out jpop?

I used to be Rina Aiuchi's #1 fan. I bought everything she released. I still consider her debut album "Be Happy" as the prime out of all of her releases, even though others may disagree (the ones who love their anime themes will love this CD). As the releases went down the way, her looks started becoming more matured, so why has she changed her look now to resemble a 12 year old? She looked 10 years older on the last album cover for "Playgirl." Someone went airbrush crazy on her and is trying to manipulate her sound to sound like Ai Otsuka or any Hello Project soloists. However, thank goodness Rina took it upon herself with some of the lesser album tracks to make them more mature-sounding. After all, how many times can you hear the word "Glorious" without going crazy? So if you buy this, only get it for the album tracks, not the awful singles like Miracle and Glorious. |

Looking Forward To This

| I've already heard the singles Rina's released this time around and they were excellent. I really think that she's greatly improved since her first album "Be Happy" and is getting better with each passing day. Maybe even this album will allow her populirity to shoot sky high, so she can sit at the top on a throne with all the other GREAT artists of Japan. I've already preordered this and I encourage you to do the same. You won't regret breaking open your piggy bank to get the cash for this. It's just completely worth it. |
