November 7, 2001 THREE'S A CHARM FOR GEN-Y COPS!FIRST OF ALL, PLEASE BUY THIS 3 IN 1 PACKAGE BECAUSE IT WILL BE WORTH OF YOUR MONEY. THIS PACKAGE CONTAINS THE MOVIE, THE SOUNDTRACK AND A GAME. NOW, ISN'T THAT COOL? :) GEN-Y COPS IS ALL ABOUT TWO PALS AT THE OPPOSITE SIDES OF THE LAW, THREE GORGEOUS BABES IN ACTION, TWO CHARACTERS BACK FROM GEN-X AND A ROBOT. EVEN THOUGH THE PLOT IS SOMEWHAT FORMULAIC AND CLICHED, THE MOVIE, ALL IN ALL, IS STILL AN ENJOYABLE AND FUN EXPERIENCE! JUST SEEING THEN-DEBUTING ACTOR EDISON CHEN, MISS FIRE & ICE MAGGIE Q., GIRL-NEXT-DOOR RACHEL (SOPHIE) NGAN, COOL DUDE STEPHEN FUNG, FUNNYMAN SAM LEE AND SEXY BABE CHRISTY CHUNG TOGETHER IN A TIMELY-SET FLICK IS REALLY WORTH THE 2 HOURS AND 15 MINUTES! EVEN THOUGH THIS MOVIE, FOR SOME, CAN'T HOLD A CANDLE TO ITS PREDECESSOR, GEN-X COPS, IT'S STILL A QUALITY BIG-BUDGETED COMMERCIAL FLICK IS REALLY WORTHY OF BOTH YOUR TIME AND MONEY. :) EVEN THOUGH I GAVE THIS A 10, IT'S STILL COULD HAVE BEEN A BETTER MOVIE... BUT THIS PARTICULAR PACKAGING, MARKETING STRATEGY, IS TOO GOOD TO RESIST! :)

Troublesome Night 7
October 7, 2001 A Light & Funny TROUBLESOME NIGHT Indeed!Not much of a horror flick, but will make the viewer stick to it until the end. The movie billed Louis Koo (probably because he's the most famous) as the main star, but what he did was more of a cameo. Thankfully, the other stars managed to fill the void Mr. Koo left because of his scarce presence quite naturally and gracefully. The story was simple (one of the movie's great qualities) and easy to follow. Long-ago lovers (the guy played by Mr. Koo) died brokenhearted because they were torn apart by the cruel destiny and can't managed to find each other even though both were roaming spirits. (one explanations implied in the film was that their love for each other weren't in the bounds and sanctity of marriage) Amanda Lee's character was to film an MTV on the island where the lovers died and that's when strange things started to happen. The ending was good and satisfactory. I only gave this movie a 9 because I think it had the opportunity to be a better movie. But, all in all, it was a great experience! :)
