If Agatha Christie was Asian, then Diary of Lady-Killer could may have well have been one of her burgeoning projects. The film flawlessly floats between murder mystery mayhem and light hearted eroticism as a man that has sexual affairs with every female that looks at him twice, finds them dead shortly thereafter, making him the prime suspect. Yet after he's convicted and tossed into prison, the murders continue. He's innocent. But who did it?

What were they thinking?!? Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
As I watched "Diary of a Lady Killer", I was compelled to wonder whether Shaw Brothers didn't cut corners on the budget by declining to hire an interpreter for the movie's Japanese director. How else to explain the astonishing ineptitude of this production?

Chin Han bumbles through his role as a wealthy business executive who devotes his free time to pursuing an endless stream of sexual conquests. (He manages to find beautiful, willing, exquisitely dressed and coiffed young ladies bowling alone. He clearly frequents different bowling alleys than I do!) After these escapades, he retires to an apartment that he rents for the sole purpose of writing up a diary of his "swordsmanship", a diary oh-so-subtly entitled "Diary of a Lady Killer".

But there is a dark cloud on our lothario's horizon. Well, actually, a pink cloud. He is being shadowed by a mysterious woman, a woman dressed about as conspicuously as possibly in a bright pink dress and a white wide-brimmed hat. She might as well be wearing a neon "I'M SHADOWING YOU" sign around her neck! Coincidentally (or maybe not), the women with whom Chin Han dallies are developing a bad habit of turning up dead.

It doesn't take long for the authorities to connect the dots, arrest Chin Han, and imprison him for life. Inexplicably, our boundlessly wealthy sexual predator neglects to hire a lawyer until after he is convicted and sentenced. Oops! Now the woman (Fang Ying) to whom Chin Han is betrothed, who -- for reasons known only to her -- continues to love him, teams up with Hong Kong's superlawyer to try to get Chin Han off the hook. Can they do it? Can they puzzle out the role of the mysterious woman in pink? And who really is bumping off all those cuties?

All of this hokum is overplayed with utter seriousness. The direction is AWOL; there are scenes in which the actors (particularly Fang Ying) appear utterly clueless about what they should do with themselves. The film's editing is some of the most jarringly awful I've seen. Heck, even the incidental music is crummy. And the story asks us in its final half-hour to care about the fate of a guy whom it has depicted as a soulless, immoral lout for its entire first hour. But here's the thing about "Diary of a Lady Killer": It is so atrociously bad that it becomes inadvertently hilarious. Consequently, I can recommend this movie ... but only as a "so bad, it's good" diversion.

Marred By Bad Acting Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
I picked this up as it has Ivy Ling Po's husband Chin Han in the lead role. With a Category 2B rating, I thought I would get to see him cavort with sexpots like Fanny Fan, Tina Ti, Margaret Tu Chuan and Shirley Huang.Well, this is a mild affair for a 2B movie. We get to see him in the shower with a topless Fanny Fan, then we get to see Tina Ti almost topless and that's it. I knew the veteran actress Margaret Tu Chuan would never strip even for her final film before her tragic suicide with her lesbian lover. The sexy scenes are all during the credits at the beginning of the movie. Can you beat that?
The plot is interesting but the film is marred by Chin Han who overacts and Fang Yin who cannot act. With these 2 strikes against it, the film doesn't stand a chance.Notable because it was the swan song of both Margaret Tu Chuan (a former big star here reduced to a supporting role) and Fanny Fan.
