ARE YOU SURE SHE IS GIFTED?
| I always don't know why people keep saying Utada is a gifted artist. Her songs are okay, but I really think they are too much appreciated. Her talent of composing is great, but there're plenty of others having the same talent. For me, her success is probably due to the careful strategy from her record company and the modernistic music arrangement. But I have to say, she's got nothing to do with all those fantastic music arrangement. Honestly each time when I listen to 'First Love', I simply feel like throwing up. I mean the song is so ordinary and the lyrics are so artificial. Rather than good music, it is more like a trend. Yeah I do admit she's intelligent, but she's never a gifted one. I'm here to say to all music lovers: please don't be blinded. If Utada's 'First Love' could sell more than 7,000,000 copies, I'm sure there're lots of others deserving such a figure. Personally I think it's only a trick between Oricon and the record company. And finally, I truly hope that people can pay less attention to all those charts. They don't mean anything. Try to explore good music on your own and you'll find the music more excellent and personal. ^^ |
