A Dark Journey
|
It's excellent! A dark journey that sucks you in then spits you out at the end ^_^ Songs of note? (no pun intended) Well almost all are good but to name a few...La dix croix and Pessimiste were my favourites for a while...I also particulary like Ange, front et baiser, Priere, Solitude. However, current favourite is without a doubt...Dialogue Symphonie-x, which is, as far as I can tell, exactly the same as the single version apart from the string intro not being included on the album version. Harpsichords, strings, organs and piano are present in abundance for a gothic, historical feel, with powerful guitars driving the rhythms forward. The only down point is the drumming. *Sometimes* the drumming sounds out of beat and it can get a bit annoying and ruin the effect of the song, but it's only a minor problem really. Also great job by YesAsia. Arrived quickly and securely - it was wrapped so well I could barely open it! Great songs, great album. Overall heavy riffs and melodies that make for a rich, entrancing experience. 8/10 |

It was cool
| I would have to stay I loved everything about the album. The gothicness was pretty and so was the way it was put together. The only probem is it's was hard for me to distinguis the songs. There was only a few that really stood out so that I can remember the title and the melody. There was also one song where I wanted to thow something at he drummer. He made me agitated because his sense of rhythem was out of place. |

Awsome debut
Awsome debut
| As soon as the harpsichord of La dix Croix plays this album hooks you. Each track left me gasping for more, the sound is raw but yet so clean, the brilliance of Juka's vocals flowing over carfeully thought out guitar (Mana), Bass (Kazuno) and Drum (Tohru) playing is just magnicent. The way this record conveys a death metal intensity but still manages to be soft and commforting (as are Mana's lyrics of love, death, sorrow and seclusion) Overall this album is great, prhepas the only flaw i have is that the intensity of the drumming can often give you a headache aswell as the hole album sounding a bit too alike. However this problem is only minor and is only really taken into consideration once you hear Nocturnal romance. Overall, a brilliant album |

I listen to a variety of music, therefore I am accustomed to hearing many different sounds. Foremost among my musical tastes, I listen to alot of goth music and goth metal (and metal in general). Prior to learning of the existence of Moi dix Mois, I was (and still am) a fan of Malice Mizer. I found this album exquisitely delightful upon hearing it. It was exactly what I love - hard and heavy with gothic flavor. I guess I can understand how some people wouldn't like it - too heavy for them, or whatever. I, on the other hand, could not be more pleased with Mana's work. Highly reccommend. |
