This is volume one of Dong Bang Shin Ki/Tohoshinki "History in Japan," a set of four DVDs that take you behind the scenes of the guys`activities in Japan throughout their career, covering everything from concert clips to backstage chat, from promoting singles and albums to photoshoots. I bought the Hong Kong version. They`re all the same. The boys speak Japanese (or try to!) and there are no English subtitles - not on any version. It`s too bad, I wish there were subs but it`s still fantastic! This first volume covers Tohoshinki`s first take on Japan as they are getting to know the country in every way as well as their audiences and, in a way, eachother too! There are a lot of things that can only be experienced in Japan and here, the boys take their first big step into a brand new world. SarangAsianMusic, I was wondering at times whether we were watching the same DVD...? I didn`t perceive the atmosphere as serious, but perhaps something was said that I didn`t understand...? It`s amazing to see how the guys have grown since then, yet, how little they have changed. Their smiles, their jokes, their love for music and eachother, their crazy pranks and their ambition...i recognize it all. I was reluctant at first to buy this DVD because I haven`t been a fan since the beginning and so I figured they`d be unrecognizable in many ways. But it`s there...man, it`s all there, and I love them so much, and I just KNOW we will see a reunited Tohoshinki! Make sure to watch the "Holiday in Japan" part! I laughed so hard I almost hurt myself, and that without understanding half of what they said! It`s as funny as the Saipan Holiday, even better! |

while the more recent histories have many funny outtakes, this first volume really lets you see some of the struggle THSK went through when coming to Japan. It's atmosphere is a little more serious, but this is just another step a THSK fan takes in order to get to know them better. ^_^ There are some funny takes, but this volume really just makes you appreciate Tohoshinki so much more... ^^ |
