YesAsia Editorial Description

Over ten years before they co-starred in Infernal Affairs, Hong Kong superstars Andy Lau and Tony Leung Chiu Wai co-starred in the comedy Don't Fool Me, directed by Herman Yau (Master Q 2001). The two award-winning actors play old classmates who rediscover each other later in life. Andy is an unlucky triad who's never been able to rise up the ranks, and Tony is a successful insurance salesman who may have contracted a terminal disease. With both finding dissatisfaction in their lives, they agree to trade places. Andy will attempt to learn the insurance trade and attempt personal success, and Tony will live out the rest of his life on Hong Kong's mean streets. But new troubles and comic situations occur, including romantic entanglements for both. Andy takes up with his boss (Teresa Mo), and Tony meets Fennie (Fennie Yuen), a triad boss' charming daughter. Don't Fool Me is a light, funny comedy about two mismatched friends find new challenges and hopes in the unexpected journey of life. Co-starring Anthony Wong, who also appeared with Andy Lau and Tony Leung Chiu Wai ten years later in Infernal Affairs!

It's a old film that most people would find alrigh Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
I think that this is a okay film. Most people would agree. This movie was made back in 1991, so I don't mind the old humor. I thought it could be better but whatever. I think they tried their best with what they had to work with. It was great seeing a younger andy and tony team up. This film will show you how films back than were compare with today's newer ones. Good enough to watch once. check it out

Good but also annoying Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Sigh! I agree with Hata that Andy Lau Tak Wah's acting deserves a boo! Really, who would believe that he, one of The Four Heavenly Kings could make a person say " Yuck!" and put his thumb down at his performance. Honestly, I am not really his fan, but somehow I like his other movies. This is one time he really flunked. But the movie was ok and deserved a thumbs up. Andy will have to think about what he had done to make the people who watched this movie not congratulate him, but only applaud at Fennie Yuen and Tony Leung Chiu Wai.

Andy Lau's worst comical film ever! Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
To be honest, I think this is such a stupid film which would even make the biggest Andy Lau fan think twice before watching. Don't get me wrong I have been a big fan of Andy Lau ever since I was about 10 and I love comical films but even I fought Andy's chracter was quite annoying and his dialogue was very unrelistic and cheesy and the film isn't even funny because the joke has all been done before. I am sad to say that the only decent thing about this movie is Tony Leung who doesn't quite save the film but at least his character isn't annoying. (Sigh) I do sometime wonder why Andy has to scoop this low to make such a terrible film(but I guess this WAS made back in 1991).
