Renowned manga artist Toriyama Akira is most well known for Dragonball, but he first found fame in the 1980s with another wildly popular creation: Dr. Slump. The gag-filled fun-for-all-ages manga, which published in Weekly Shonen Jump from 1980 to 1984, revolves around the misadventures of wacky inventor Dr. Slump and his robot creation Norimaki Arale, a near-sighted and simple-minded girl who brings home trouble in the barrels. Dr. Slump was adapted into a popular anime series that aired from 1981 to 1986, and provided fodder for morning reruns and fond memories for years to come. A second anime series was created in the late 90s. Dr. Slump also bumbled its way to the big screen for 11 feature films from 1981 to 1999, all of which are now available in this boxset.
