2개월 전에 발매된 2장의 싱글 'crush the window', '夕?UNION(Yuunagi UNION)'을 파일럿으로 하여 전작 앨범 'HARVEST' 이래 2년 2개월의 인터벌을 두고 발매되는 6번째 앨범.
아직까지도 남아있었던 Dragon Ash의 금단의 문이 만개하다!
이번 작품에서는 혼합된 관용구를 완전히 무시했다. 왜곡된 음압에도, BPM의 속도에도, 복잡한 전개에도, 외우기 쉬운 멜로디에도 의지하지 않고, 공격적이면서 약동감 넘치는, 그리고 감정적이면서도 서정적인 Dragon Ash의 Original Mixture의 새로운 모습이 탄생했다.
그 금단의 문 저편에서 발견한 그것은, 생으로 연주되는 타악기(캐스터넷, 마라카스, 기로, 죠우즈 하프, 댄서의 발 소리 등)로 라틴 뮤직을 연상시키는 복잡한 리듬 구성이기도 하며, 최근 히트곡에서 볼 수 있는 쿨하고 세련된 코드의 진행을 이론적으로 역행하여 60년대의 향취가 느껴지는 코드 진행이기도 하고, 거의 전 곡에 등장하는 BOTS, 사쿠라이, HIROKI, DRI-V의 ASS-NARROW 코러스팀을 피쳐링한 코러스 파트이기도 하다.그리고 이러한 새로운 요소를 대담하게 담아냄으로써 지금까지 Dragon Ash로서 9년의 세월동안 발견하고 쌓아 오고 닦아 온 것이 더욱 더 그 빛을 발한다.
끝 없는 깊이를 품고 있으면서도 그 영역은 한 없이 넓고 걸림이 없으며 높은 음악성을 내포하면서도 누구나 편하게 즐길 수 있는 앨범 「Rio de Emocion」. 이 앨범의 타이틀은 스페인어로서, 직역하면 "감정의 강"이라는 뜻으로 앨범의 내용을 단적으로 표현하였다.

Reggae influence

Consists of up-beat tunes that are pretty cool.... "yuunagi union" is kinda like an island chill song. A little reggae influence and just like a chillin on the beach song or something. "Crush the window" is like a happy tune with some light rapping...I think I like this one the best. "Resound" goes back more to their old style with a rock/techno background but the voice singing sounds like reggae also, then he will start rapping like his old style. sounds weird, but comes out pretty neat. This CD is good, but nothing beats "Viva La Revolution!" |
