Dragon Pipsqeeks Customer Review Rated Bad 0 - 0 out of 10
The name of this movie should be renamed "Dragon Pipsqueeks", all too often average budget movies with allstar casts fall short of expectations. This is one of those movies. This is my first review and I only posted it, because I felt it was necessary to unleash my hatred towards this movie and to spare others from wasting 90 minutes or so of their lives.

Let me just preface this review with a confession. I hate Vanness Wu, his acting is up to par with a dead fish. From what I've heard he was part of an asian boy band. All I can say is, he should have stuck to his day job. His acting in this movie follows suit with his other movie, "Star Runner" just plain rubbish.

Now, with an allstar cast featuring Sammo Hung, Simon Yam and Shawn Yue. One would think this would be a pretty kick butt martial arts movie. Wrong, this film utilizes cliche gun battle scenes that have been done over and over again in asian and western cinema. Nothing about the story adds up. Having an all star team of "kids"(as they put it) battle opposing forces just makes me think the director of this rubbish played too much CS(CounterStrike, its a game. look it up). In fact, all the weapons are commonly used in the game, from blades,mp5s,ak47s,sniper rifles, etc... Nothing tactical or strategic about the way they used these weapons makes it at all interesting. Everyone was just spraying and praying that the bullets would hit someone. In fact there's a semi-long weapons battle where all the weapons were used and after 15 minutes of shooting and god-knows how many bullets, no one is hurt.

One of the worst things about this movie is that there are way too many flash sequences introducing the characters over & over & over again.

The only reason, I even sat through this trash was to see the beautiful vixen Maggie Q, but even her role as a "Vietnamese Sniper" just doesn't sit well with me. Do yourself a favor, read through all the previous reviews and come to your own conclusions. If you feel like torturing your friends buy this movie for them. Otherwise, save yourself from such waste. Check out, "Flashpoint" starring Donnie Yen or "Eye in the Sky" another movie with Simon Yam.

Nice to them all Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
This movie is quite entertaining. They were able to put together best actors from HK, Korean, Taiwan, Japan and China. Quite interesting.

Eva Huang Shengyi............. Customer Review Rated Bad 6 - 6 out of 10
I mainly bought this VCD to see how well Eva Huang acts, since my last film with her in it was Stephen Chow's "Kung Fu Hustle", and also the cover look appealing. The blurb written at the back cover sounds like a decent storyline. But the film somewhat fall short of its promise. This film is more to do in introducing a new crop of actors who are yet to make it big. Looks good, but leaves you with an empty feeling.

"Hollywood-wannabe" Customer Review Rated Bad 1 - 1 out of 10
I was actually excited to see this movie in theaters, which I failed to do so. With all the "casting coup", and lavish promotions,it's so hard not to be tempted to watch this movie. But... one word is enough to describe this movie after i watch it...DISAPPOINTING!!! Trying so hard to be "hollwood-like", but it failed. Action scenes are well executed, but kinda bad acting for some of the actors! Sammo Hung & Shawn Yue delivers...but the rest...I cant really say. I've been expecting much from Vanness Wu's performance, but failed to deliver. He looks too "feminine" to be an action star. I think he should concentrate more on singing or dancin & performing on stage, coz he definitely kicks *** than acting!

OMG Customer Review Rated Bad 2 - 2 out of 10
Sammo and Shawn Yu was too good for this movie. The ending made no sense. Vanness and his whole crew shouldn't of even lived at the end but they did. They messed up pretty bad. If you like senseless action, I guess this movie is for you. Other then that it's not that good.

not dat good Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
It was not very good at all. There were actions and stuff. They had a lot of goodlooking stars, but it seemed so fake. There were "sharpshooters" but they missed the enemies sooooooo many times. They didn't even hit any part of the bodies. It seemed pretty fake but some of the scenes were pretty cool.

big upset Customer Review Rated Bad 4 - 4 out of 10
Be prepared to be dizzy in the beginning. The camera starts moving quickly everywhere and in and out of places. There is no character development. Due to this, most parts intended to make you feel sad, don't. The shooting action is alright but nothing to be amazed about. The story is very weird to say the least....you'll find yourself asking questions on why certain things weren't done. The acting is bad...i still wonder why they prefer to say english lines every now and then...even the american dude playing in this movie has no enthusiasm in his english talk. Very disappointing.

Bad film, great action! Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
If it weren't for the action, DRAGON SQUAD would probably just go down as another embarrassing vehicle for a bunch of kids with no charisma and further proof that the territory has forgotten how to make a good film. So if you're not nuts about violence, this isn't a film for you. If you really miss the days when Chow Yun Fat could take out an army with just 2 guns in his hand, come get your fix :) Despite the rapid editing and camera movement, the choreography of the gunplay all flows, and you get a great sense of the layout and movement within the scene - the action shines as being well thought out and put together. I'm tempted to say the gun fights feel very realistic, though the sheer number of bullets fired in the course of 110 minutes makes that claim impossible to justify. The action is refreshingly well crafted, with the kind of attention to detail mixed with creativity that is what put Hong Kong on the map back in its heyday.

Kyle Reese From Terminator!! Customer Review Rated Bad 0 - 0 out of 10
Yes, what a brilliant casting decision, hire the guy from terminator to play the evil bad guy who has some personal beef with a triad leader and the Dragon Squad is called into action!

The whole movie is just wrong, from the stilted acting, to the cheesy romance between Kyle Reese and a girl far too young for him, and all that pointless camera work where the director jsut loves to Zoom pointlessly into windows, doors and tires...

What more needs to be said? Watch it if you like predictable, poorly acted, and badly editted action sequences all loosely tied together by a nonexistant plot.

nice try Customer Review Rated Bad 3 - 3 out of 10
This film tries really hard to be a Hollywood quality fast-paced crime thriller. But too much of it is just unrealistic and way too cheesy. Also theres just too many characters. The movie is hard to follow. The director really tried to make a movie like "Heat" (Al Pacino, Robert Deniro) you can tell by some pretty obvious style cues. But Dragon Squad misses the mark by pretty far.
