RTV (now ATV) was the source of numerous hit TV dramas in the 1970s and 1980s, including the classic wuxia drama Dragon Strikes. After the huge success of Reincarnated, the station followed up in 1979 with another popular period piece Dragon Strikes, again written by novelist Huang Ying and screenwriter Kong Lung. Choreographed by a team that includes Ching Siu Tung, the martial arts action put on screen in Dragon Strikes surpassed even that of Reincarnated. Set in the Ming Dynasty, Dragon Strikes follows swordsman Xiao Yiu Hau and the dangerous power struggle and tangle of corruption and conspiracies he encounters in the royal court and the martial arts world. The drama stars Alex Man, Jason Pai Piao, Law Lok Lam, Candice Yu, and Nancy Sit.

【天龍訣】故事的開始是明朝正德四年(1510年)，製作主題圍繞權力使人腐化來發展，從逍遙侯之成長過程串出宮廷與及武林中之連鎖陰謀，由宮廷及武林之兩個三角關係貫穿，它們分別為〝宮廷之小三角 - 正德皇、劉瑾寧王；武林之大三角 - 逍遙派、白蓮教、南宮世家。形成三股不分朝廷與江湖的勢力，互相鬥過你死我活，刻劃政治圈中之殘酷無情，以及小人物之空流熱血，可歌可泣，有血有肉，是絕對精彩的武俠經典！
