Dreams of the Red Chamber Customer Review Rated Bad 8 - 8 out of 10
As far as I'm concerned it's Dreams of the Red Chamber not mansions (even though the family involved do possess a very large property with huge compounds and a couple of separate mansions within).

Just like the Water Margin version, it's top notch mandarin and again without any subtitles. So whenever poems are recited it's a little difficult to comprehend. It begins at a slow pace and special attention is needed to follow the plot right from the beginning or else you'll not understand the importance of the jade piece and the complications therein.

It's quite a sad story and really get you moving once you've gone past around chapter 8-10. In my opinion however, a couple of episodes could be deleted cause they appear to be fillers. But then again, I have not read the book and if this production is a true version, then well done!

I hope the title is only a typing error..... it maybe US version but please NEVER change a classic title!!! because it's misleading to those unfamiliar with it.

Althought the movie was filmed almost 20 years ago,It is still a really good one to review. I watched this drama 14 years ago on a movie channel, Now I am glad I bought a U-S version with chinese sub-title.

Something to Watch Over and Over Again Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This set of "Dreams of the Red Mansion (Chamber)" fllows the book very closely. Everyone in it did a great job. I read the book many times in different versions, yet, was still glued to the television after popping the CDs in. This is a set worth keeping, it's a classic!
