Hong Kong singer/actor Eric Suen spent a few years in Mainland China taking parts in numerous television series, and Dynasty Doctor was among the most popular ones. He dropped his courtly manners to play a little scoundrel who becomes a royal doctor in this costume comedy drama from 2001, which also stars Mainland popular actor Ren Quan, actresses Luo Haiqiong and Li Xiaoran, and famous Taiwan actor Lee Li Chun.
Ping Chang (Eric Suen) and his mother move to the capital city, where they try to make a living out of conning people into believing that they are medical practitioners. They soon meet a tramp named Wang Jiu (Lee Li Chun). After learning that Jiu is actually a disciple of the late "God of Doctors" who allegedly made the medicine of immortality, Chang decides to study under Jiu. With the help of Jiu, Chang's skills in medicine improve by leaps and bounds, so much so that even the royal court has to appoint him to be the "Dynasty Doctor"! Meanwhile, Chang and his friend Nong Caotang (Ren Quan) get into a complicated love triangle - or rather a "love rectangle" - as each of them falls in love with one of the identities of a girl (Luo Haiqiong) who suffers from split personality disorder....

Very good!!
| This is one of my favourites... It is actually really good!! I got totally into this movie from the first 5 episode!! It has every genre in it. It's funny, touching, sad, etcAfter these 5 episodes i was addicted to it. I thought the acting was really good. The only down side to this is that the casts don't have many costumes/ clothes... they seen to wear the same 2 types!!:) |

Sooo funny!

Definitely worth the buy. It is such a funny show! Eric Suen is fabulous...he is really hilarious on the show. The series comes in both Cantonese and mandarin but I liked watching Eric with his real voice (Cantonese) ...it fits so much better. The cover is misleading because the girl in the purple only appears in a portion of the series. Watch it! it is good! |

Definitely worth yor money!
| Eric Suen sai that he IS that type of playful perso in real life... hehe... This is good show that might take a few episodes to get into... But the humor, romance, lessons in life, and family love are very sweet and touching. The scenes between him and the main actress are very cuuute. I keep rewatching those XD |

Funny!
| I got this series in Hong Kong and it is funny. One of the funniest TV series I have watched in a while. Well worth the money. I have watched it twice already and it was still entertaining the second time around. |
