Dangerfield is a laugh riot as a baby photographer with a rich mother-in-law who ostensibly dies and leaves him millions, with the proviso that he thoroughly reform: he must quit drinking and smoking, and he must lose weight. Dangerfield turns from a lovable family man into a grouchy jumble of nerves, further vexd by his sleazy ex-son-in-law and a buxom next-door neighbor with a penchant for topless sunbathing. Dangerfield's wife, Azzara, doesn't help matters by insisting that he stick to the letter of her mother's absurd will. Moreover, his hard-drinking pals, headed by Pesci, smoke, drink, and overeat in front of Dangerfield, driving him to bug-eyed jitters. Is he able to win the money by the deadline?
