The second film of the successful Eden of the East series is here. Originally meant to be two 60-minute films, the two Eden of the East theatrical versions grew so ambitious that creator Kamiyama Kenji managed to expand the second film to 90 minutes. Produced by Production I.G., which also produced the TV animated series, Paradise Lost continues the saga of Takizawa Akira, a mysterious man who must save Japan by becoming the "King of Japan" in an elaborate game with players named Selecaos. Picking up where the first film left off, the second film starts with Takizawa becoming the "King of Japan" and going on the final battle with the remaining Selecaos. Meanwhile, the past he shares with Saki Morimi will finally be revealed.

Premium Edition Blu-ray comes with a bonus DVD featuring a visual commentary by the crew, a drama CD written by creator Kamiyama Kenji, a recap of Eden of the East through the eyes of Saki Morimi, and a 100-page booklet with storyboards.
