I like the tracks selected, there's a good variety, and there's even 3 tracks that are cover versions of older Cantonese songs that were surprisingly good. In the past I have been so frustrated buying an artist's CD only to find that I only like 2-3 songs (usually the ones that are released on the music charts). So I have started to buy compilations, which are good deals because you get 2 CDs for the price of one, and they usually collect the best tracks from each artist. This CD is a good buy. Towards tghe end, the story became even sadder. Hyun Bin's role and appearance are completely different from MNIKSS. Here, he is quiet, calm, and sensitive. His acting is very natural and believable as a boxer dealing with tragedy and guilt. Sung Yuri is very beautiful (great clothes, accessories and hairstyles) and she does a good job acting the role of a very spoiled and rude girl who slowly changes because of her relationship with Hyun Bin's character. Only complaint is that I felt the storyline dragged toward the middle. The great soundtrack and beautiful cinematography really made this drama very good and memorable. Leon's cover versions of the four "Heavenly Gods" most famous songs are pretty good. I like the musical arrangements and each song was unique. May 11, 2007 Disappointing CD
I usually really like Juno's music and have many of his older CDs. This CD is very different stylistically and has lots of tracks with heavy bass and background vocals, but no real melodies. I really did not like the songs and thought Juno's voice sounded weak (even though it was overly synthesized). Wish I could get my music back, since this CD was so expensive. Not worth the money. However, the storyline and dialogue quickly become very repetitive. Hins is talented enough to write, play, and produce music and that should be applauded. That said, I think this is one of Hins' weakest albums. His debut and second albums were both much more creative and interesting. I listened to all of the tracks on this album and the melodies are pretty boring, and the lyrics rather simplistic. Just like the original L&O, the focus in each episode is on the story, but Trial by Jury also focuses quite a bit on Bebe Neuwirth (who plays the lead district attorney), so anyone who doesn't like her probably will not enjoy this. Leon Lai is brave for trying out a different role, but his acting is still very wooden and unconvincing! May 15, 2006 Actresses that can't sing!Some of these actresses really do not have the proper voice or vocal training to sing, and it shows! The songs are only OK. I think it's only worth it if you like one or more of these actresses a lot. Also, I will not buy any copy-protected CDs because I can't rip the tracks to listen to on my iPOD. May 11, 2006 Pretty funny stuffThis is disc 1 of 2 discs, about 45 minutes long. The focus of the show is Da S and Zai Zai is only a guest (he's off to the side), so you only see and hear from Zai Zai periodically as he talks about Da S and filming Mars. Some parts are pretty funny when Da S and her little sister talk about their relationship. Da S sounds pretty bossy and mean. At the time they filmed this show Da S was still dating Lan Zheng Long so she talks a lot about him. I think Disc 2 has better footage of the interaction between Da S and Zai Zai. May 3, 2006 Only OK but beautiful sceneryI have watched multiple versions of Condor: Andy Lau, Louis Koo, Richie Yen, and now this one with Huang Xiao Ming. The best is still Andy Lau's version-- even though the series is over 20 years old and the CGI/fight scenes were rudimentary, Andy's series had a lot of character development and a flowing storyline. This version of Condor Heroes has lots of beautiful sceneries and special effects, but the story is disjointed. Some of the actors' make-up, hair and costume are too bizarre. Because all of the actor's voices are dubbed, it is very distracting because it doesn't sound like the actors. Also, in some scenes with the actor playing Yung Gor looks almost retarded (when he laughs). The actress who plays Siu Long Lui is very beautiful but sometimes her acting is very wooden. The book has some English translations so you'll know overall what is written, but not all captions and portions are subtitled. The DVD is 30 minutes long but has no subtitles, so if you don't understand Korean you're out of luck. The DVD shows a brief summary, akin to a music video of the storyline and characters, but obviously Soong Seung Hun is not in the actual SLS because of his compulsory military service. If you are a huge fan of Sad Love Story, Kim Hee Sun, Kwon Sang Woo or Soong Seung Hun, then you might think the book is worth $40 because the photos of them are quite beautiful and expressive.
