Fiona's CDs' normally contains mostly slow songs. However, Electric Angel is something that is a bit different. I was expecting the same when I first got the CD but when I listen to all the songs, I was like "Wow !". I love most of the songs in the album. I know I didn't say "all" but I am still Fiona's fan. It just that some of the songs I didn't like was because of the lyrics or music but I love Fiona's voice & her singing. This album still worth a "10" because I like how Fiona tries a new type of music because some thinks trying new things might lose fans but it totally didn't lose me. The album is very success in my opinion. I love the song "Mini Sugar Dumpling"/"Tong Bat Lat" & "Mini Canyon of 1234". Both of the songs are different from what Fiona normally sings. The music & the melody are very catchy & make me want to sing & dance. The lyrics are easy to follow. You should buy this CD if you are Fiona's fan. If you are not then you must buy this CD because this might make you think Fiona is a great singer in Hong Kong. |

I should first mention that I LOVED Fiona's "F Debut" - all the songs there were a little different and managed to pull different moods from me. The slow songs on Electric Angel don't do that. They are a little plain and there's just something missing her voice. It almost sounds like she hit puberty, since her voice is a little lower and has lost that airy quality. In fact, in some instances I found her voice comparable to Stephanie Cheng [like in the bonus track], but of course at least a hundred times better. Finally, about half her songs sound like something I've already heard, which is sad because Fiona has been pulling strong for awhile without things like that actually bothering me. With that said, I do like the first two tracks to a certain extent, mainly because I hear that voice I love mixed around to become a different sound. I hope her next album will show a better balance and control, and please stop sounding like Stephanie Cheng. |

finally go the chance to finish listening to her album i find this release to be something fresh and new..as fiona tries different types of music+genres and challenges herself to sing it...some were quite outstanding..but some needs a bit of improvement..fiona however has improved on her singing..she's getting better at pronouncation and trying the next step and play of her vocals onto the tracks..the ones that really got to me were track 1 - which had a really intersting traditional chinese + hip hop + r&b mix...it was composed by khalid..so a fresh new co-operation b/w the 2 singers...also..i like fiona's performance in here..it gives a soft yet a bit of 'in-love' feeling.. track 2 - gave a wonderful '886' continuation (as the song were written by the same composers)..i like how it's a bit of disco-ish..yet how everything blends together is quite unique and different from usual disco-type of songs..edward chan/charles lee always uses their own style when it comes to music..so i find original..also this song is hard to see..the melody isn't always at the same paced..it challenges fiona to really give her a good performance..she delivers the song very well..be able to capture all the lyrics at the fast parts track 3 - back to what fiona is strong at..slow ballads..i like how there's not a lot of music background in this song..so u can really listen to her vocals..her voice here is quite strong..so it also shows improvement from 'funny girl' & 'me' track 4 - another slow ballad..this song isn't too outstanding..but i really like the guitar in the background..it gives a relaxing feeling to me.. track 5 - love the piano intro..and then how the guitars take over..and then the drums come in...so it gives a slow ballad and then speeds up to a rock/punk song..i like this one the best track 8 - u can really hear nothing much except fiona's voice + the piano in the background..now this song is a theme song for a movie..so i think the arrangements really suits the mood of the movie track 10 - also another slow ballad..gives me her usual feelings from singing slow songs..the feeling back in 'f debut', 'funny girl', & 'me' as for tracks 9/11..9 is the mandarin verison of track 1..and 11 is just a re-make of track 2..pretty self-explanatory there and the music videos..the mv for track 1..really really shocked me..even though overall i wanna say about the music..but her image for that song..really gives me a OMG - WHT R U DOING...i dun why she had to like put black blotches onto her eyes..it really ruins her cute & pretty image to me...good thing the mv for track 4 was better..since it brings out the cute side of her..n some clips from her movie overall.i'll rate it a 9..as i did enjoy most of the songs..this is acutally the album i find it better than ther other releases..even though her songs in her previous releases were a bit stronger & more outstanding..but that was only 1-2 songs from the album...anywhoss..i hope fiona releases another cd soon..i really enjoy listening to her |

I do know that I don't really care what the cover of a CD looks like or even where the idea for that cover came from... but I don't know yet what I totally think of "Electric Angel" musically. I do enjoy most of the CD, but there are definitely more areas on this one (as opposed to her other CDs) that seem a little weak or not-so-well-thought-out to me. The odd thing is: I don't know why. I guess I can't put my finger on what isn't making this perfect for me. I still adore Fiona's voice and generally speaking, I still adore her basic style of singing (regardless of genre...). So, I don't know. I'm not really sure what to say about this release except that so far I think I like songs 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 and 11 best. Songs 2 and 9 were the ones I did not like at all. The rythmns on those just seemed "off" to me somehow. Again, I'm not really sure why... Maybe whatever it is that I can't quite put into words about this CD is the reason so many people here seem to be divided over various aspects of this release. I would recommend this to people though, because it's not really bad. It's not totally original, but it's still a nice CD. I don't see this as Fiona's greatest achievement...but it's enjoyable (well, at least I think so...) for the most part. |

OK...really quickly I will address that I honestly don't understand why so many "reviews" are mostly complaints of cover images and/or video footage. In the world of graphic design, often cover images not only are produced/established long before the CD is completed, but the singer (generally) is at the dictate of her photographer and/or manager regarding pose/content...so I don't know that the discussions of her cover art are particularly relevant. Besides, if they bother people so much, just do what I did (and not because the art bothered me: I just like altering things...): take a photo you do like from her huge photo booklet and cut it to fit over the image that came with the CD. Jewel cases are easy to disassemble and reassemble however anyone desires them. Anyway, I'd much prefer to discuss the music in some depth...because as yet, I haven't seen that done with this CD from Fiona. I did rate this particular release an 8-out-of-10 because I do agree it is not her best CD so far. Personally, it feels a bit rushed in production to me coming so close on the heels of "Me" as it does. It's also not as cohesive in content or style as her previous releases. I think of all her CDs, "Funny Girl" remains my favorite...followed by "F Debut"...followed by "Me"...and finally "Electric Angel". That said: as my review title states...nobody is is perfect all the time. At some point in nearly every singer's career there comes that one CD that gets extremely mixed reviews from both old and new fans alike. For Fiona Sit...apparently, this is that CD. My thoughts on the songs themselves: Track 1- I think I must be in the minority here, because I actually liked this song the least on the entire disk. I found the beat rather awkward and somewhat annoying. As for the style itself, I didn't like the sound of R&B for Fiona as much as her pop or rock songs. Granted, Fiona sang it quite well, but I just didn't enjoy it at all. Track 2- Again, I found the beats irritating and far too "dance club style" for my taste although Fiona sang it with very strong vocals and the overall impact of the track was catchy in some places. Track 3- Now I'm beginning to see the typical Fiona I've come to expect. A serene ballad with rather hypnotic vocals that is very nice. Track 4- Another Fiona song that suits her so well and flows mesmerizingly well with her voice. Track 5- Absolutely the standout song on this CD for me (but of course, I am a huge YUI fan as well...). I thought the music was excellently arranged with marvelously well-paced rythmn and beyond ideal vocals. If Fiona wants to break away from being regarded as primarily a ballad singer...I hope she chooses more songs like this one as opposed to songs like #1 and #2. It seems like a completely solid match of music and vocals for Fiona. Track 6- Lush musical arrangements and airy vocals makes this another typical Fiona ballad I have come both expect and respect. It also has a powerful chorus that is enchanting and intoxicating in it's range and intensity. Track 7- While I'm not personally overally fond of the 1980s type sound effects and her vocals seem the weakest on this song...it's still better than tracks #1 and #2 for me. Track 8- This dreamlike, breathy song is a nice touch and actually reminds me of some French singers (like Myrtille, Keren Ann or Dorval) that I enjoy. Track 9- This appears to me to be a Mandarin re-do of track #1...and since I have already expressed my thoughts on that song, I won't bore everyone by going over it again. Just one word sums it up for me: YUK. Track 10- A typical and summery Fiona ballad that flows like a breeze. Not particularly memorable, but very pleasant and soothing. Track 11- This is up-tempo and VERY different for Fiona...in my opinion, the most unique musically for her on this CD...but it's done extremely well and while initially I was hesitant as to how she would pull it off, I think she did great. It's excellent for novelty value for those Fiona fans missing a more up-tempo touch after the success of "886". So, to sum up, my personal Top 3 favorites are 5, 6 and 3. My personal Bottom 3 are 1/9, 2, and 7. Everything else falls into the realm of "nice and expected". I don't really have much to say about the MVs...they didn't leave much of an impression either way on me. Mostly what I have to say is just to not pre-judge anything or anyone and base your decision as to whether or not you want to buy this CD on your own sense of what you are looking for. Everyone wants and expects something different, and as is evident here by all the reviews...I think this particular release is going to have to be a personal choice and not one that can be based on what others have to say: because it seems we are all saying something different regarding "Electric Angel". But that's OK. That's why review panels are established...for people to state the facts as they see them and let the decisions fall where they may. |

The music video of the first song is a rip off from ayumi hamasaki's 'ourselves' music video and namie amuro's 'ningyo'. The song itself is good and her voice is nice but it doesn't fit the music video, especially the dark gothic style outfit from ayu's 'ourselves' music video. As for the cover, I prefer her with a natural look. She is pretty but this style is not like her and doesnt suit her. |

I think fiona sit is an ok singer, and i quite like track 01, but i agree that it is not a very strong first song. I also agree that the cover is a bit like 10 most wanted. If not 10 most wanted, then she is copying faye wong. I have also listened to the theme songs from the films but i don't think that they are 2 good. In fact, from the songs i have listened to, the only gud song is track 01. But get it if ur a fiona fan nd u r prepared 4 a disappontment. Also, the titles soooo copying miriam yeungs electric girl. It seems she has nothing better 2 offer than copying people. |

i think many people are making too much assumptions to fiona's new cd when it hasn't even been released yet...i dun think it's nice that people are giving like low ratings jsut because the cover looks like joey's 'ten most wanted'..firstly..the cover was taken from fiona's performance at her 903 live concert w/stephanie cheng..secondly..people think she copied joey's image..when in fact the cover for joey's cd was taken from faye wong's image...so i think there shouldn't be any negative comments on that..just because the cover looks similar..it doesn't mean the songs are bad...the artist is mainly trying to sell her music..not her image..we should really focus on that instead....but anyways..i heard of track 1 on the radio..it has traditional chinese feeling w/a bit of hip hop to it..quite an interesting match..it's very catchy..looking forward to her new release |

The songs are disappointment and when I saw the cover, the impression I got was Joey's TEN MOST WANTED CD ALBUM COVER. I agree, only track #1 is a good song and it's okay... The thing I don't like is the song are from Gwan Stefanie again... Original work please!!! |
