Hot young idols join forces to create a romantic drama set in the tropical Hainan Island, the scenic Scotland, and the glamorous London. Emerald on the Roof features Wallace Huo (At the Dolphin Bay and Hands in the Hair), Betty Sun (best-known for her role as the blind girl in Fearless), Chinese American new actor George Wu, and Taiwanese model Yvonne Yao. The story begins on Hainan Island. Two young men Zhou Nianzhong (Wallace Huo) and Nie Kai (George Wu) both fall for a pretty girl Mo Jiayi (Betty Sun). She and Nianzhong become lovers, and they move to Britain at different times. One day Nianzhong receives the tragic news of Jiayi's death in an accident. Years later, when he is about to marry another girl (Yvonne Yao), he runs in to Jiayi again. But she is now in wheelchair...

In this modern day retelling of Shakespeare's ROMEO AND JULIET, Chou and Mwo fall in love with each other against their respective families' wishes. Before she leaves, however, Mwo gave Chou a green ruby necklace as a testament of their feelings for each other. highly recommended
| If every Chinese drama is as good as this one, the Koreans would have a very strong competitor on their hands. Three out of the four main leads are so adament of their love but in the end they understand and know when to let go. Yao is very admirable. She's almost like a saint. Sun Li is so beautiful and tough, she makes every girl proud. Unfortunately she has a really money conscious mother who is forever a pain. It is a great pity of course that after all those hardships, she and Wallace still could not be together. Wu (Lip Hoi) is the most touching one. He loves completely without reserve. Only Wallace is a bit too soft. Many a time he couldn't speak out how he feels so as not to hurt others. I suppose the ending is fair although it would be nice to see the lovely pair united. A good story with a beautiful girl and two superb looking young men, what else do you want? |

| I love all wallace series although I have only seen three of them, star, a promise of love at the dolphin bay and twin sisters. I've been looking for this because the trailer seems good. |
