西暦９９３年。渤海を滅亡させた契丹が８０万の大軍を率いて高麗に攻め入った。領土の割譲か降伏を要求する契丹に対し、土地を与えようとする高麗国王の成宗と、抵抗する妹のファンボ・ス［千秋太后］（チェ・シラ）は、兄妹の絆を越え激しく対立する。やがて弓矢を手に立ち上がったファンボ・スは戦地へ赴き、持ち前の弓さばきで応戦するが、契丹軍により断崖絶壁に追いやられてしまう。捕虜になることを恐れたファンボ・スは、自ら崖下の川へ身を投げる。薄れゆく意識の中、１４年前に高麗を大帝国にせよと言い残した太祖王建の言葉が胸に蘇っていた。それは、理想のため愛を失っても、大帝国高麗という夢を手放すことが出来なかった英雄、千秋太后の波乱に満ちた物語が始まった瞬間であった…。 第71話〜第78話収録。
