    Thirteen years after Pride, Kimura Takuya and Takeuchi Yuko reunite on the small screen in the TBS medical romance drama A LIFE. Kimura stars as a genius brain surgeon while Takeuchi plays his former love, a pediatric surgeon now married to his rival. The drama's strong supporting cast includes Matsuyama Kenichi, Asano Tadanobu, Kimura Fumino, Nanao and Emoto Akira.

    Ten years ago, surgeon Okita Kazuaki (Kimura Takuya) was forced out of Danjo Kinen Hospital by his own friend Masao (Asano Tadanobu). He moves to Seattle where he builds a tremendous reputation in the neurosurgery field. Kazuaki returns to Tokyo a decade later at the behest of hospital director Danjo Toranosuke (Emoto Akira) who is in critical condition. Toranosuke wants Masao to perform a highly difficult and dangerous heart surgery on him. At the hospital, Kazuaki also crosses paths again with Masao, now the hospital's deputy director, and his wife Mifuyu (Takeuchi Yuko), Kazuaki's ex-girlfriend and the daughter of Toranosuke. Despite the doubt and opposition of other doctors, Kazuaki agrees to operate on Toranosuke and to return to Danjo Kinen Hospital where many risks and challenges, both medical and otherwise, await him.

    Yagami Rina's shojo manga Ani ni Aisaresugite Komattemasu has been adapted into a TV drama and a feature film with the same cast and crew. Aired in April and May 2017 (before the film's release in June 2017), the youth romance series stars Tsuchiya Tao (Orange) as high school girl Setoka whose efforts to find love constantly fall flat due to the intervention of her overprotective brother Haruka, played by GENERATIONS from EXILE TRIBE member Katayose Ryota. After being rejected 12 consecutive times by different crushes, multiple romantic prospects suddenly appear before Setoka at the same time: first love Takane (Chiba Yudai, Kurosaki-kun no Iinari ni Nante Naranai), prince-like senpai Chiaki (Kusakawa Takuya), childhood friend Kunimitsu (Sugino Yosuke, Jimi ni Sugoi!) and her non-blood-related brother.

    Renowned screenwriter Sakamato Yuji (Mother) and hit-making producer-director Doi Nobuhiro join hands for the TBS human suspense drama Quartet. Matsu Takako, Mitsushima Hikari, Matsuda Ryhei and Takahashi Issei form the drama's titular quartet, four lonely classical musicians who find solace in each other, but their music and friendship are put to the test when checkered pasts begin to catch up.

    Struggling classical musicians Maki (Matsu Takako), Suzume (Mitsushima Hikari), Tsukasa (Matsuda Ryuhei) and Yutaka (Takahashi Issei) step out of adjoining rooms at a karaoke box at the same time, all holding their instruments. The four connect over their fateful meeting and decide to form a quartet. Unemployed drifters Suzume and Yutaka, housewife Maki and Tsukasa, who comes from a famed family of classical musicians, all love performing, but they just aren't quite good enough to play professionally. To dedicate themselves to their quartet, they move into Tsukasa's outskirts home together, and build a close friendship that warms their lives. However, each of them is keeping secrets from each other, and it turns out that their meeting was not so coincidental after all.
