Enjel Vol. 1 - My Name Is Enjel

Since the disbanding of pop trio Cleo in 2003, Enjel has been absent from the Korean music scene, but now she is finally back with her first solo album, My Name is Enjel. Debuting with Cleo when she was only 16 years old, the singer is still fairly young, but already experienced beyond her age. As Cleo's former lead vocalist, Enjel impressed fans with her clear, strong voice, and she has continued to mature and improve in the past four years.

In comparison to her Cleo years, Enjel's solo effort has a markedly different style, concentrating more on hip hop and R&B. First plug Pop (Track 1) is a hip hop track featuring female rapper Annie K, who also lends her vocals to "Caught on the Spot Cheaters" (Track 7). Enjel collaborates with many hip hop artists, including C-LUV, 237 and Shorry J of Mighty Mouth, and Vasco, on such jiving numbers as title track My Name is Enjel (Track 1), "The Last Telephone" (Track 5), and Make Up (Track 9). Coming back strong, it won't take long before everyone remembers that her name is Enjel.

ENJEL 1집 ‘My Name Is ENJEL’

2003년 부터 4년의 공백기를 깨고 그녀가 Enjel 이란 이름으로 첫 솔로 앨범을 준비했다. 벌써 데뷔 9년이라는 세월 만큼이나 변한 그녀의 모습과 생각들 음악들을 담고 있는 이번 앨범은 지난 그룹활동의 이미지를 벗어나고픈 마음과 오랜 공백기 동안의 축적된 에너지가 한껏 발산 되고 있다. 힙합과 흑인음악들의 최고 뮤지션들과 함께 하였으며 Enjel 역시 작사와 랩에도 참여하는 등 더 이상 인형같은 가수가 아니라고 표현해낸다.
