A gorgeous BoA ballad, but I've overplayed it so I'm not crazy about it anymore XD However, it is GORGEOUS...just don't put it on repeat too much like I did T_T now, I'm tired of it...but it's so good, I wish I wasn't.......I make no sense, do I? |

Best Balled!!
|
This is by far BoA's best Balled. I think it's her best song since "Do the Motion". I hope this single does better that her past two. Every artists has ups and downs in their career so don't dismiss BoA so quickly. Her talent shines in this emotional song. Be sure to get her new album! |

Just amazing. A must have!
|
Seems like BoA's kicking off the new year with an awesome start! I have to admit that Make A Secret was quite disappointing. But this single just R-O-C-K-S!The sweet and sad lyrics go really well with the tune, and BoA's vocal skill is going up a new level. The coupling song "soundscape" is a cute little song with a catchy beat that will make you hum to it everytime you listen. This is a must have for all BoA fans!! *WHAT THE OTHER PEOPLE SAID ABOUT [GIRLS ON TOP] AND [DO THE MOTION] IS NOT TRUE!! [GIRLS ON TOP] IS AN AMAZING ALBUM THAT REFLECTS THE STRONG SIDE OF OUR LITTLE PRINCESS BOA!* |

Wonderful!

BoA did not have a spectacular year last year. Singles like "Do The Motion" and "make a secret" showed a departure from what we were used to from this Asian pop diva, not to mention that her disappointing Korean album "Girls on Top" was nothing but filer, and "Dakishimeru" was a generic pop disaster. Despite this, BoA has come back for the new year with the amazing song "Everlasting" which shows a new sign of maturity for BoA and pulls her out of the musical slump she's had to face. "Everlasting" is a beautiful pop-ballad that puts "Every Heart" to shame; " Don't pass up "Sounscape"! It's another great song with an R&B tinge to it! And the classical version of "Everlasting" is just as good if not better than the original! If you're the type of person who actually buys CD's then I may have to ask you to pass this one up if you haven't got it already. BoA's new album "Outgrow" will be out soon, and it will have "Everlasting" and "Soundscape" on it. I'd only get this if you're hard-pressed to listen to the classical version of the song, or if you oddly enough like uneeded instumentals. |

Everlastingly a Chart-Topper

BoA gets it right with this Korean release of her Japanese single, "Everlasting" in 2006. This single makes all of the right impressions in both Japanese and Korean--but even moreso in this Korean release. Having not released a ballad as emotional and as captivating as the winter release of famous single, "Merikuri," BoA makes a fine attempt with stronger vocals, more sweeping violins and percussion, and a lot more heart. Where "Merikuri" missed the mark, "Everlasting" strikes the target straight on. Making a good decision to leave the weak and somewhat uninspired "soundscape" alone for the Korean version, we get "Seulpeum eun Nomchodo (People Say...)" (Even if the sadness overflows [People Say...]). A sexy R&B track that starts off with a nice funky, mid-tempo beat. BoA's voice slides in a bit breathy, but soon picks up the sweet and yet somehow strong vocals we came to appreciate even more on her 2004 album "My Name." Her vocals don't necessarily blow this song away, but they blow "soundscape" out of the park! This B-side alone is reason enough to get this CD! It has the Jazz R&B feel that sophisticated R&B-lovers respect BoA for, and enough of the sweet, K-Pop-oriented BoA that old and new fans alike can enjoy. As you'd expect, the classical version of "Everlasting" is magical and sounds perfect for any live performances; be it cello or violin, this classical version speaks volumes. You might also notice that BoA hits her notes with more UMPH on the Korean singles, and though a lot of it sounds from the gut and nasal, you love it. To put it simply...Definitely one of my favorite singles since "DO THE MOTION!" |

Great single =)
Great single =)

First off, I'd like to say this single was exceptional. The title song is very good. The other tracks (soundscape on the Japanese version, and Seul-peum-eun neon-chyeom-do on the Korean version) weren't quite up to par. I haven't listened to a BoA song since she's released "Shine We Are" (for those of you that are BoA fans, you realize that was quite a while ago). However, I thought this song was so great. The only problem I have with it is the English ("I'm sorry for your tenderness") which doesn't quite make sense... On another note, I think the person below me is full of it, and is just nationalistic and full of bias. The Japanese version DOES NOT have more "emotion" than the Korean version. They're the SAME song, sung the SAME way. The languages are just different, and the person below is probably just bias. I think personally am offended, especially when he/she states: "The korean version of everlasting isn't sung with as great of emotion as the japanese version (well what do you expect)". What is, "well what do you expect?" supposed to mean? That the Korean language is inferior to the Japanese? Disregard this person's ignorance. In my own opinion, I personally DO believe that the Japanese lyrics fit the song better, but NOT because it's "sung with more emotion" (when recorded songs have little emotion anyway). I think it's because Japanese has harder consonants than Korean which fits the instrumentals in the song. Also, the song itself is a Jpop styled song, and therefore would probably sound best with Japanese lyrics. Just like "No.1" sounds better in Korean than it does in Japanese simply because it's a Kpop styled song. It's a great buy! Probably one of the best things she's let out for a while. This has a memorable melody, something that most of her songs have been lacking lately. |

Great but japanese version better =/
Great but japanese version better =/

This was an awesome single. Everlasting (korean lang)is also sung with a great amount of emotion compared to alot of BoA's older ballads (i.e jewel song etc) BUT theres one flaw in this song. The korean version of everlasting isn't sung with as great of emotion as the japanese version (well what do you expect)The song is still awesome it's jus t beaten out by the jap version IMO. People Say is a pretty good song. The composer of my name and moto is the composer for this song. This song is a mid-tempo song. Nice beat. BUT soundscape ( from japanese version) sounds better. But then again thats just me. I just happen to like t he other song better than this one. =3 If ur going to purchase this single which is pretty much a MUST ;) if you've got enough pocket change to spare , then go order a copy of the japanese version also. =] Both are very unique in their own way. (i.e the cover) so ta-ta and id rate this single 8/10 and the japanese version 9.5/10 =] |

This single is definitly her best ballad singl eout of jewel song , every heart, and mericuri. Everlasting was sung very emotionally. The lyrics of Everlasting were also written By BoA herself with some assistance from Natsumi Watanabe. This single is definitly alot better than her past two singles which were surprisingly very very low in sales. (Make a Secret , Dakishimeru) Soundscape is also a very nice happy type song which alot of people like even more then everlasting. Definitly a song that could've been the main song on the single. The classical version is also a very nice song. With piano and violin in the bg. I , myself like the classical version. Too bad they hadn't added in the instrumental for the classical version. Would've been awesome! <3 Also, everlasting , On the first day of release had hit number 3 on the oricon chart. But then again not to surprising since the two singles above Everlasting was the ever-so-popular boy band TACKEY & TSUBASA. Cute guys = crazy fan girls xD no offense. Than theres Koda Kumi's candy single which is limited edition and what not.(IMO the candy single wasnt that great and thers only one song...but eh =p) ANYWAYS hopefully BoA's Everlasting single beats out kkoda kumi's candy single and well not very posible that she'll beat out tackey and tsubasa so bleh =S |
