F.T Island Special Album - The Refreshment

Like the force of a falling comet, F.T Island's debut release Cheerful Sensibility packed in a lot of energy. Their symphonious vocals meshed in perfect harmony with catchy mainstream tunes helped to stamp their name on the nation's top band list in 2007. These five teenagers certainly deserve to enjoy a long rest especially since accomplishing a string of chart-grabbing smashes like Sarangaari ("Love Sickness") and Chundoong ("Thunder") within just a few months' period. Nonetheless, time is of essence when it comes to pleasing their fans, as they make a quick return to present a special album entitled The Refreshment.

Their latest release comes in two discs containing an assortment of old and new tracks, plus an interactive music program for fans to explore their own musical creativity. Disc 1 features 3 new songs and rearranged songs from their previous album. Disc 2 is in Music 2.0, which allows the fans to freely mix the sounds in whichever style they desire. Such interaction is possible due to a special audio source format in which vocals along with other instrumental sounds such as piano, guitar, and drums are individually stored. In addition to the discs, The Refreshment comes with a 60-page photo book where the five boys are seen relishing the typical lifestyle of teenagers. Also included in the photo book are printed autographs from each member of the group.

2007년 6월 혜성처럼 등장해 가요계에 보물로 자리 잡고 있는 FTIsland(에프티아일랜드)가 발매 6개월 여 만에 신곡을 담은 스페셜 앨범을 발매한다. “The Refreshment”라는 제목의 스페셜 앨범에는 다섯 보물들의 여정이라는 컨셉으로 그 동안 무대에서 보여주지 못한 발랄하고 귀여운 멤버들의 모습이 60여장의 화보집으로 담겨 있다. 데뷔 후 정신 없이 달려온 FTIsland(에프티아일랜드)가 오랜만에 평범한 10대의 모습으로 되돌아가 짧지만 달콤한 그들만의 휴식을 싸인과 함께 화보집에 고스란히 담았다. 또 각 멤버 별 단독컷이 담긴 엽서도 함께 수록돼 있어 앨범의 소장가치를 더욱 높였다.

이번 스페셜 앨범에는 2장의 CD로 구성되어 있으며, CD1 은 신곡 3곡이 추가된 Treasure Chapter와 대중들의 감성코드를 자극하는 곡들로 꾸며진 이 Emotional Chapter, CD2는 1집의 상쾌한 락 넘버들이 주를 이루는 Island Chapter외에 1집 인기곡외 신곡과 함께‘뮤직2.0’으로 제작된 스페셜 CD로 구성되어 있다. 애절한 가사와 멜로디가 호소력 있는 이홍기의 목소리와 잘 어울어진 히트작곡가 류재현의 ‘너 올 때까지’를 비롯해 밴드적 편곡이 FTIsland(에프티아일랜드)와 잘 어울리는 작곡가 김도훈의 ‘사랑이야’, 화려한 오케스트라와 밴드 사운드가 잘 어울어진 감성적인 멜로디의 ‘눈물이 더 가까운 사람’등 신곡 3곡을 포함 총 16곡의 노래가 스페셜 앨범에 수록되어 있다. 또한 보컬을 비롯한 피아노, 기타, 드럼 등의 악기 연주를 분리한 음원 포맷으로 소비자가 직접 음악을 믹싱해 자신만의 스타일로 감상할 수 있는 뮤직 2.0까지 포함되어 눈길을 끌고 있다.

한편 FTIsland(에프티아일랜드)는12월 3일 스페셜 앨범 발매와 함께 12월 15일 대구를 시작으로 전국 콘서트 준비에 총력을 쏟을 예정이다.
