Step by Me ♪

I'm totally in love with the single! At first I didn't like Chu~♡ a lot, but the more I listen to the song it becomes more addictive! I always love the electronic sound SM's hit tracks deliver. Step By Me is my favourite track from the single. It has such sweet and brightful melody that's easy to get hooked too :). You are my destiny was OK, Krystal's vocal was unique, but I didn't really like the song that much. But however the song puts a nice ending to the single. The CD design was pretty and the booklet was also very nice. I love all the animations, they look so fresh and cute. All the hearts are loved ♡. And the color arrangement really pointed out each girl's individual's concept. While Pink Sulli and Orange Victoria bring a cute, lovable image with bright smiles, Purple Luna and Blue Krystal look really cool with such icy expressions. I didn't like the fact that the single comes in a jewel CD case. I'm offended that I could break the case and/or the CD if I was clumsy >:(. And I also don't like how SM didn't include LA chA TA and Chocolate Love in the single. Also very regretful that I didn't purchase the CD sooner, the posters are sold out in Korea by now :( But overall, the single was great and I was satisfied :) |

Chu~♡ is a mediocre release by f(x). The single opens up to the title track Chu~♡, which is a synth pop tune. Their is a minimal use of auto tune used when the repetitive catchy words "Do it Do it Chu~♡, (It's) true It's you" and "Grow up" is used. Electronic drums and bass is the core of the melody with violin sounding synths and other electronic effects overlap the hard hitting bass. Their is no build up in the track which only goes in circles through out the course of the tune, and an out of place rap performed by Amber is towards the end. Chu~♡ is not a horrendous track, but its not a stellar one; which leaves it being mediocre. "Step by me" follows the synth pop track "Chu~♡" and is an electronic influenced, mid-tempo R&B/Pop tune that starts off with a simple piano melody. "Step by me" shows off the vocals of f(x) more than the hook track "Chu~♡" and builds up the listener, unlike the title track. The single ends with "You are my destiny", a ballad sung by Krystal and Luna. The track is sung brilliantly by Krystal and Luna. "You are my destiny" shows off f(x)'s vocal abilities, which was needed on this single. Regardless of the track being a typical Korean ballad, it is, like previously stated, brilliantly sung and has emotion flowing from Krystal and Luna's voices. The tracks on this single are just 'okay' or 'safe'. Nothing stands out or goes above and beyond, which is a shame since f(x) is a very talented group. "Chu~♡" comes in a regular jewel CD case and has a nice lyric booklet. The photo's inside the lyric booklet are from the same photoshoot seen on the cover of the CD. |

This was an overall pretty nice album. I actually liked the 3rd and 2nd song except Chu got a bit annoying after a while. There's no real photobook. Inside is just 1 picture of each member and lyrics which is all to it. However its a good buy especially since its f(x)'s 1st single. |

I absolute fell in love with Chu~♡. I really recommend watching them perform this live and watching the PV. The cheorography is so cute. ^^ However, for those expecting more unique songs like Lachata and Chu~♡, the other two aren't like that. The other two have that classic SM sound *similar to SNSD albums where you love the hit single, but the other songs aren't as unique. *So, all I'm saying is that for those who are expecting more songs that are different from the classic SM sound, the other two tracks aren't.* For those who love SM Town and SNSD's (or even Super Junior during their old albums) sound outside of their hit tracks, you'd enjoy the entire single. Chu~♡ 10/10 At a first listen, you need to get past the loud synthetics because a lot of people say it sounds like noise. However, once you get used to the unique sound, you can't help but love it. ^^ I love the creativeness in the sounds used (especially the sounds used at the end of each chorus when they sing the refrain/interlude starting at "nan ireohke ddeolrineun gaseumeul mideo~") Step By Me 8.5/10 Very bouncy and cute. It seriously sounds like a SNSD song, but these young girls have really nice vocals. However, I always picture 9 girls dancing to this song O.o (It sounds SO much like an SNSD song! >_<) You are my destiny 5/10 Nice powerful vocals 10/10, however, this isn't my type of ballad song. I tend not to like SM female group ballads, sorry. T.T The only thing I dislike about this single deal is that it's a single and not a mini album. For those who want to physically buy Lachata or Chocolate Love, you can't. I wish they had just released a mini album with all the released songs while promoting Chu~. I would recommend just waiting for an album release. ^_^ |

I thought that lachata or Mr.boogie were going to be on the album since they've been promoting it for a while, but the songs on here are just as good! Its a total of three songs. I love your my destiny, Krystal and Luna sing so beautifully! Its worth buying! |
