Great movie, great audio, bad video

This movie is great. One of John Woo's best. Cage and Travolta give spectacular performances that are worth your time and money. However, when it comes to the DVD it's a different story. The DTS track is awesome and very active (especially with surround use). But, if you care more about video quality than audio quality you will be disappointed. The video quality is horrible. With alot of grain and artifacts. The R1 version's video is perfect while this version has video that looks like it belonged in the 1970s. So if you are a DTS junkie like myself, get it. If you value video quality more, avoid. |
