I'm glad I managed to get this fantastic concert even in vcd format. Contrary to "Anonymous" review, I find it very entertaining even though the banter between Joseph Koo and Wong Jim at the beginning of the show was just a minute too long (just one minute**). Liza Wang's songs were cut short and I'm definitely not happy about this one. This is very apparent because Liza was the first singer at the beginning of the continution vcd (there're 4) but it was announced as "for the following next number Liza will sing.......".

Joseph has never been an extrovert and so it was left to Wong Jim and he did a fine job. In this sort of presentation, one has to speak casually, honestly and thrown in with some 'street language' to bring the audience into the mood. I do not find it offensive at all.

Selected songs for the concert were only a fraction of Joseph's & Wong Jim's collaboration for many golden classic tv theme songs as well as movie theme songs. The fact that the original singers were there for the concert reflects the love,friendship and respect for the 2 musical genius. My only wish is that the concert could have been another hour longer.

Jackie Chan's appearance was a surprise but I suspect it was an 'arranged' crashing-in. All the costumes were fantastic, but my favourites went to both gowns worn by Jenny, also both gowns of Frances Yip and that hot orange number by Roman Tam .

Lastly, this concert was actually held on New Year's Eve 1999 and the audience had a chance to ring in the New Year 2000 together with a well wishes for Joseph Koo's birthday. What a great idea it was**

The quality of this concert was really lowered by many offensive wordings from Wong Jim. I really think that he over did it to try to make the audiences laugh, instead he ended up offending people. I am also disappointed by the performances of some singers, for example, Jacky Chan and Sin Tu Lai, they did less than an average job. Sin Tu Lai actually made a hugh mistake as a result of being too wild during her performance, and Jacky Chan sang out from a piece of paper. Wong Jim spent too much time on putting down his colleague Gu Ga Fai that he left not enough time for Ivy Ling Po to speak a few words. In conclusion, Wong Jim needs to improve his communication and interpersonal skills if he ever wants support from the audiences.
