great summer single Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
fairyland - estremely catchy summer song... alterna - one of best ayu "jem" songs! It's an extra rock-song which sounds cool and has great lyrics! But I think buying the cd-only version of this single is a sin! If you do that you will miss the alterna PV which is just sooo great! I bought this version only to have both covers! And I don't regret doing so!

"alterna" all the way! Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Altough the main track is "fairyland" and it's really nice and cool, the jem of this single is alterna - the song and the PV! It's one of the best ayu PVs to date! And the song - it just makes me shiver! Really cool ayu-rock-song! Don't miss the song and the PV! Buy the single now!

alterna kicks butt! Customer Review Rated Bad 7 - 7 out of 10
all of ayumi's songs are generic and it seems like she didn't put a lot of effort into her lyrics. her songs are also becoming more predictable (her songs are usually 5-8 lines, then chorus, 3-6 new lines, then chorus again but slightly changed tone of voice, then a period of beats/instruments, and finally several repeats of the chorus but with slightly changed lyrics --> pay attention to her newer stuff... all of my story and her 4 newest tracks are like that). i don't mind generic music; i like anything that entertains (that's why i'm also a fan of hitomi shimatani and boa). this single is much better than step you/ is this love? but the single still gets an average score from me. fairyland can gets old after listening to it a few times and the music video was very lame (guys dancing and splashing water and ayumi dancing poorly and starring as the fire burns the island... what were they thinking?)and a huge waste of money (about 2.4 million i think). at least she looked pretty throughout the MV(aside from her tan line). alterna, on the other hand, totally blew me away. the beats are just lyrics and the beats are just awsome. this MV is twisted, not very good, but still entertaining (unlike ourselves which was very twisted and kicked a**). i thought she looked very pretty was a puppet. i recommend buying this single for alterna. it's worth it.

Fairyland Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Fairyland is my first single by Ayumi Hamasaki, and I personally think it was a wonderful buy. Fairyland is a fun, emotional track (with a chorus that has a touch of ANGEL's SONG from Memorial address in it). Then, there is alterna, my favorite track on the whole cd, mainly because of the orchestral-like synths in it. There are two remixes; STEP you, and fairyland which are both fun, and then there are the Instrumental versions of fairyland and alterna. Overall, I'd say I'm very happy with it. I plan to buy both STEP you/is this LOVE and HEAVEN once HEAVEN is released. Go Ayu

Ignore fairyland. Mark My Words: It becomes quickly boring and forgotten. Go for this single because of Alterna! Rockish Ayu lovers you've been blessed!
The remixes are fillers but the acoustic version of fairyland & a photo thingie is a nice add.

Go for the DVD since you'll get to see one of the best PVs Ayumi has ever made. This PV is Alterna!
I'll give this single an 8 because the originality lacking fairyland and the average remixes.

BEST SINGLE OF THE SUMMER Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
. Today I received Hamasaki Ayumi's fairyland in the mail; I was really interested in hearing this song for the first. To tell the truth I actually loved it. The music video of fairyland is very beautiful and I have already watched it ten times in the last half an hour. Alterna the b track on this single is a rock song, sounds like because of you/ is this love? With a really wicked guitar sound to it, which makes it, sound like a song that slipknot would make. The video itself is weird but in an interesting way. If you are interested or a fan of Hamasaki Ayumi I would recommend buying this single.

One of Ayu's best, most complete singles Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
Two completely different genres: fairyland c/w alterna! The mixes of STEP you and fairyland are excellent also; STEP you remix is a fun song that will get you singing along, and fairyland is just a good, hopeful, summer song, period.
On the other hand, alterna is a very unique song, imo. It's different from most of the rock songs that I've heard from Ayu. Just listen to it, it's very different, and I do recommended that you watch the PVs. Watching the alterna PV will make you love the song even more! oh, I forgot to mention that the fairyland PV gallery pics are beautiful. This single is great for newbies (genres) and Ayu-collectors (creative PVs+excellent songs/remixes=a very complete single)

Ayu takes us to Fairyland! Customer Review Rated Bad 9 - 9 out of 10
I bought this single mostly because there was more tracks than usual. I really don't like Fairyland as much as Step You or Inspire/Game, but it's still a happy catchy song. For some reason it seems Ayu's singles now are very contrasting, containing a happy song and then a darker, depressed or sad song. Fairyland easily gets stuck in your head, but Alterna is a little harder to catch on to. The remix of Step You was definitely something different in keeping with the Hawaiian theme of Fairyland, but the Fairyland remix lacked a little, it was a little more annoying than actually catchy like the original mix.

COOL!! ^^ Customer Review Rated Bad 10 - 10 out of 10
This is the best single of Ayu's ever!!! ^^ I love the STEP you remix and Ayu-chan does a GREAT job with the the reegge (however that's spelled). Fairyland has such an awesome PV and alterna is mainly disturbing.. But, I still watched fairyland pv over and over again and the alterna pv reminded me of a Britney Spears video. STEP you is such an awesome song that it has such a nice remix! ((I think everyone should invent a dance to that remix))
