　　In the year 2051, a mining vessel with a 7 man crew is sent to dig precious minerals from a nearby asteriod headed towards the Earth. As the mining operation begins, one of the crewmen is trapped and fatally injured in what appears to be an accident. Against the ship captains direct orders, DERYL BODEN(MICHAEL PARE), the ship's mytersious and moody pilot tries unsuccessfully to save him. Boden and the Captain get into a first fight over the incident. Several days later the Captain is found dead and Deryl is the prime suspect. Nobody trusts him, except the alluring and beautiful geologist, Desousa. She uncovers an insurrectionist plot to destroy the Earth by diverting Deryl's ex-wife, Marilyn, works as an antiterrorist agent. She uncovers an insurrectionist plot to destroy the Earth by diverting Deryl's asteroid anto a collision course. She manages to get a message to Deryl but only after all of the other crew members have been killed by Desousa the terrorist agent. In a deep space life and death struggle, Deryl and Desousa fight to control the ship , the asteroid and the fate of our planet.
