Lu Yi stars as the young, ambitious, and animated Gao Juehui, a character said to be reflective of Ba Jin himself. Along with his brothers Juexing (Huang Li) and Jueming (Zheng Guolin), Juehui witnesses the dynamic changes of the early 20th century, swept into the wave of new cultures and ideas challenging traditional beliefs. In such chaotic times, how will these three brothers cope with the changes and conflicts in their country and their large traditional family?

Based one a famous Chinese novel and set in the 1920s, Family adopts contemporary emotional expressions to interpret the tragic love stories of members in a big family. Some of them choose to leave home, some live without their heart and soul, some with regrets and some stuggle hard for a new life. In the end, none of them could escape from becoming victims of the feudal society.
