Louis Koo, Lau Ching Wan, and Jordan Chan, donning 70s Hui brothers hair, play bumbling private detectives who discover a magic lamp. From the lamp comes Cecilia Cheung portraying a homely genie with Harry Potter-meets-Lam Ah Chun fashion sense. Francis Ng wreaks trouble as perennial bad guy Kin, along with the gogo dress Chopstick Sisters played by Twins. There's even a kung-fu kicking, garbage-producing dinosaur in there somewhere! Written and directed by Wai Ka Fai, Fantasia is a hilarious homage to the silly New Year's comedies and fond Hong Kong memories of yesteryear.

　　The glory days of 1970's Hong Kong comedy cinema come alive again in this hilarious spoof of such classic Hui Brothers movies as The Private Eyes and Games Gamblers Play, with an all-star cast imitating many of the famous comedians from the past! Private dicks Michael (Lau Ching Wan) and Sam (Louis Koo) are trying to crack a case involving antique thefts when they encounter a dorky-looking girl (Cecilia Cheung), who claims to be a powerful wizard and can grant them three wishes. Initially skeptical, the detectives are soon convinced of her power. All Hell breaks loose as they scramble to make wishes like winning lottery tickets and getting pretty women! With great celebrity cameos by pop superstars Twins and the lovely Christy Chung!

Good acting by all enhanced this funny goofy movie.
Lau Ching Wan fan was really funny as a cheap and money tight private detective owner... There are 4 storey lines for the 4 leading actors and every body got almost equal screen time and all quite entertaining. Plots are unusual and amusing: 1970's style singing and dancing by of course the TWINS and Francis Ng/ the jealous wizard dinosaur cousin of Cecilia Cheung/ the funny side of Francis Ng... Ha Ha Ha
I agree with the Sept 2005 review that this is destined to be a cult classic !
A happy ending too.
