FIFA Soccer 10 features core gameplay refinements based on responsiveness and intelligence. These enhancements and more deliver a high standard of authenticity, as FIFA Soccer 10 continues to set the benchmark in both innovations and gameplay as the most complete simulation of soccer.
Enhanced Gameplay Fundamentals – Short corners and fewer cards from the referee will help sustain the momentum of the game and add an increased sense of fluidity to play. Smarter player runs and improved passing physics will give you the opportunity for increased attacking options. More intelligent defensive positioning ensures your team will not chase the play or sink too deep into your own third of the pitch. Goalkeepers have improved their save / parrying ability, kick passing, and throwouts too. We've also brought the DS in line with other FIFA titles on other platforms with recreating the way that one-two passing works and introducing Man of the Match
Visual Improvements – Updated player portraits, improved pitch details as well as 40 new star head models headline the visual improvement in FIFA Soccer 10. Coupled with updated front end menus which align with FIFA Soccer 10's menus on the Wii creating a distinctively unique Nintendo experience
Pre-match Scouting Reports – Learning to play professional soccer the correct way is even easier now with insight from your manager. Scout Reports will provide a pre-match scouting report helping plan your attack against every opponent, highlighting their team style and key players to watch out for, giving you tactical advice on how to beat them
In-game Coach Feedback System – In addition to pre-match guidance, your manager will give you additional advice during half time and as the match unfolds, utilizing the Touch Screen to provide recommendations on how to adjust your strategy on the fly
Set-Piece Creator – Adding another level of customization, the set piece creator will allow you to create, test and tweak custom set pieces, utilizing the Nintendo DS touch screen, that you can then save and use in real game situations. You will have the ability to save 4 different corner kick and 4 different free kick strategies
For example, the Coach Feedback system gives information and advice throughout the game to help you really become an expert in the game. Your coach will give you a pre-match Scouting Report to evaluate your opponents strengths and weaknesses so you can plan accordingly. During the match, he will give you ongoing tactical suggestions as the game unfolds, such as substitutions and formation changes that can be implemented on the fly.
And for an added level of customisation, the new Touch Screen Set-Piece Creator allows you to create and then store your very own set pieces that can be triggered in game at various dead ball situations to allow you to gain the upper hand on match day.
