周朝東終於刑滿出獄，回家路上勾起不堪回首的往事。他年輕時甚為嗜賭，幸在最困難時遇上多年不見好友韓江，解燃眉之急，細談下知道韓幹的是盜竊國寶文物，韓知朝東是開鎖專家，不惜利誘朝東。
一日，朝東回家途中救了李月琴，但送她回家時被妻子撞到，並有所誤會。月琴惟有帶朝東回家療傷，朝東得知月琴的遭遇甚表同情，力勸月琴脫離伴舞生涯，二人頓成莫逆之交。但一次的盜竊行動中朝東被捕。出獄後，朝東決定重新做人，遂找韓討回當年應得的款項，卻被韓暗中伏擊，幸得月琴經過救援，月琴勸朝東檢舉韓罪行，令韓繩之以法。
After 18 years behind bars, Chow returns to his home and reunites with his aging mother and teenage son. What Chow yearns most, however, is to find his wife, who left him and his son during his days as a national treasures' smuggler. But, Chow must first settle the score with his former partner, and get back what is rightfully his.
