In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Final Fantasy series, the classic RPG Final Fantasy IV is getting a stunning makeover! Originally released for the Super Famicom, and released in North America as Final Fantasy II, Final Fantasy IV is one of the most beloved games in the series, possessing all the usual trademarks of the franchise - crystals, chocobos, airships - along with a touching and very involving story. The game chronicles the redemption of Cecil, a Dark Knight for the kingdom of Baron, who joins forces with his friends to defeat the malevolent Golbez, who has designs on taking over the world. Along the way, Cecil discovers the truth of his heritage, and sheds his Dark Knight label to become a noble Paladin.

Original Final Fantasy IV developers joined forces with the team behind the acclaimed Final Fantasy III DS remake to produce this new version of Final Fantasy IV. The game takes full advantage of the Nintendo DS's advanced functions, with touchscreen support and instances of full-motion video. 3-D models have replaced the original's 2-D sprites, cutscenes have been added to flesh out the story, and voice actors have been hired to voice the previously mute characters. In addition, the remake features a new Ability system, allowing characters to use abilities of players no longer in the party. With enhanced features and technology, new mini-games and quests, and an expanded, deep story and gameplay, Final Fantasy IV for the DS should provide plenty of excitement for both new and veteran Final Fantasy fans!
